čoḷḷụ T. M. (C. ജൊ —) Stunted; worm-eaten (= ചൊട്ട), unsubstantial. ചൊള്ള So. leanness; an immature fruit.

čīḷ (C. Te. ശീ —) 1. A splinter, piece of wood, wedge. 2. a sound = ചിള്‍ (C. ശിള്‍, T. ചീഴ് whistle) — ചീളെന്നു instantly. ചീളെ ന്നു പാഞ്ഞു Mud. fled at once. ഭീത്യാവീണു ച. നമസ്കരിച്ചു Bhg., ചീ. വന്നു CC. ചീള So. rags. — ചീളി So. venetians. ചുകപ്പു see ചുവപ്പു.
