paδir (T. പതര്‍, C. hadiru an unripe fruit) Empty corn-husk, chaff നെല്ലു ചേറി പ. പോക്കി MR. doc. പ. പിടിക്ക to winnow. പഴ ഞ്ചൊല്ലില്‍ പ. ഇല്ല prov. — (തീപ്പതിര്‍ 461). പതിരിക്ക V1. rice to be without grain. പതിര്‍മ്മ (No. loc. f. i. നിലത്തിന്‍റെ) = പതുമ.

paraġaδi S. (പരം 3.). Bliss എല്ലാ ര്‍ക്കും ഗുരു തന്നേ പരയായുള്ള ഗതി KR. പരജന്മം another birth. പരജാതന്‍ a bastard, Bhr. പരജാതി a foreign tribe, other caste. പരണി Tdbh.; ഭരണി A vase, jar. പരണി ക്കിണ്ണം an earthen plate. പരണ്‍ T. (see ഹിരണ്യഗര്‍ഭം). പത്മനാഭന്‍ S. from whose navel a lotus flower arises, Višṇu. ഇപ്പനകള്‍ ഏഴും എയ്ത പത്മ നാഭ Anj. of Rāma. Often പത്മനാഭസ്വാ മി & പ'നാഭി Višṇu. as worshipped in Tiruvanantapuram. — ശ്രീ പ'ഭദാസന്‍ title of the Travancore Rāja. — പ'ഭപുരം‍ N. pr. of the temple & palace in Travancore. പത്മരാഗം lotus-coloured; a ruby. പത്മാകരം a lotus-tank. പത്മാക്ഷന്‍, (പത്മേക്ഷണന്‍ AR.) m., — ക്ഷി f. lotus-eyed. പത്മാസനം one of the 9 postures in യോ ഗം. — പ'ന്‍, പത്മസംഭവന്‍ AR. Brahma. പത്മി a spotted elephant. പത്മിനി a lotus plant & lotus-tank; a woman of the best class, rare now-a-days.

pātha (fr. പഥ S., in C. pādi). Way പാ ഥകള്‍ VCh. പാഥസ്സ് S. a place; water പാഥോജലോചനേ CG. lotus-eyed, പാഥോനിധി ഇളകി മറി ഞ്ഞു AS. the sea. പാഥേയം S. (പഥ) provender പാ. കിട്ടാഞ്ഞി ട്ടു പാരമായി വിശക്ക VCh. (= വഴിക്കരി).

puṇ T. M. C. (huṇṇu & puru, Te. puṇḍu, Tu. puḍi). A sore, ulcer; a wound ഇലക്കണന്‍ തനിക്കു പുണ്‍നൊന്തതിരോഗം മരുന്നിനാല്‍ തീര്‍ത്തു RC. പുണ്ണില്‍ ഒരു കൊള്ളി വെക്കുന്നതു പോലേ AR. പുണ്ണില്‍ വെച്ചു കെട്ടുക a. med. പു. വറളും MM. the wound heals. — തീപ്പു. a scald. — ഉഷ്ണപ്പു. Syphilis. പുണ്ണന്‍ having sores = വ്രണമുള്ളവന്‍. പുണ്ണാക to become sore. — വായി പുണ്ണാക്കുക to salivate.

poy T.M. (C. pusi = പൊളി, പൊളളു). 1. A lie, untruth, opp. മെയി as പൊയ്യേ പ റഞ്ഞു ചതിച്ചു — മെയ്യൊന്നു കല്പിച്ചു Bhr. പൊ യ്യേ പറയും ചിപര്‍, പൊയ്യായ വ‍ാക്കുകള്‍ Mud. പൊയ്യല്ല Nal. 2. illusion, cheat, like മായ f. i. ഇപ്രപഞ്ചങ്ങള്‍ എല്ലാം പൊയ്യെന്നുരചെ യ്യാം; ഭേദപ്പൊയ്കള്‍ KeiN. സീതയെ പൊയ്യാല്‍ കവര്‍ന്നു AR. നദിതന്നില്‍ പൊയ്യേ മരുന്നു കല ക്കിയതും നീയേ Bhr. പൊയികാല്‍ B. notches cut in cocoanut-trees for climbing them. പൊയ്ക്കാല്‍ a wooden leg, stilts ചേറു കടപ്പാന്‍ ഒരു കൂട്ടം പൊ. പൊയ്ക്കാരന്‍, — രത്തി Palg. = കുരളക്കാരന്‍. പൊയ്ചില a charmed stone? പുനെന്ത പൊ. RC. (or large). പൊയ്തല the dried & bent top of a dying cocoanut-tree. പൊയ്തലച്ചി 1. a dying palm. 2. Lawsonia inermis (പുത്തലച്ചി Rh.). പൊയ്ത്ത (part. of പൊയ്ക്ക T. to lie) in പൊ യ്ത്തവഴി a cross-way, by-path. പൊയ്വഴി Bhr. a false way, one of the defences of a fort. പൊയ്വാക്കു a lie. പൊയില്‍ Low ground, f. i. in നെടുന്പൊയില്‍, പൊയില്‍പാടു; see പൊഴില്‍.
