GP.; ചുരക്കായി V1., ചുരങ്ങ the fruit, used as vessel by toddy-drawers (also ചുരത്തൊണ്ട് No., ചുരപ്പാത്രം, ചുരക്കുടുക്ക V1.). — ചുരപത്രം GP 65. the leaf, also ചുരങ്ങയില. — Kinds: കാട്ടു — also കൈപ്പച്ചുര, from the gourd of which the ചിരപ്പക്കുററി is made — കാട്ടുചു രങ്ങ തീര്ത്ഥത്തില് മുക്കിയവന് N. pr., a low caste sage. നാട്ടു — Cucurbita lagenaria, the gourd serves as drinking vessel (ചുരങ്ങാത്തൊണ്ടു); പാല്ച്ചുരങ്ങ (കുത്തി ഉണക്കി a med.); പേച്ചുര a bitter gourd (S. കടുതുംബി). 2. a female screw; the part of an instrument which receives the handle, So.
