ka/?/aγam (T. = കളരി) 1. A temple, chiefly considered in its political bearings ക' ങ്ങളിലുള്ള ബ്രാഹ്മണരും തറവാട്ടുകാരും TR. ക ഴകത്തഴിവു KU. expense of a temple-ceremony, ordeal, etc. 2. a temple service. അവിടെ ക. കഴിഞ്ഞു MR. offering of flowers etc. 3. title of 4 chief temples of the ancient aristocracy, Parappūr, Perinchellūr, Panniūr, Cheṇganyūr, which afterwards had the right of electing the king KU. 4. administration, authority, എനിക്കു N. ക്ഷേത്രത്തില്‍ ക'മാക കൊണ്ടു MR. — So. prosperity; കഴകത്താക to succeed. കഴകക്കാര്യം = കഴകം 4. administration of temple property, generally confided to 4 ഊരാ ളര്‍ or കഴകക്കാര്‍ f. i. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലേ കഴ കക്കാരന്‍ വാരിയര്‍ MR. — also കഴമ. കഴകി (huntg.) kšabaṇaǹ S. (ക്ഷപ് to abstain) Buddhistic monk or beggar, പെരിക കോപി ക്കും ക്ഷപണജാതികള്‍ വരും ഇനിയും Mud. ബ്രാഹ്മണരും ക്ഷപണന്മാരും Mud. Brahmans and Buddhists. ക്ഷപണകന്‍ a naked Buddhistic beggar, ഇ ത്ഥം ക്ഷ. ചൊന്നതു Mud.

darbha S. (ദര്‍ഭം) Poa cynosuroideB (= കുശ). ബ്രാഹ്മണരുടെ ശേഷക്രിയെക്കു ദര്‍ഭപ്പുല്ലും തുള സിയും Anach. ദര്‍ഭകള്‍ വിരിക്ക Bhg. to spread holy grass, as for a dying Brahman to lie on. — a kind: ആററുദര്‍ഭ‍ Saccharum spontaneum, (ആററുതെര്‍പ്പയുടെ വേര്‍ a. med.). ദര്‍ഭം S. tuft of grass, വിരിച്ച ദര്‍ഭങ്ങളില്‍ ശയി ച്ചാര്‍ slept on grass; also കുശദര്‍ഭകളില്‍ ശ യിച്ചു KR. ദര്‍ഭാസനം, f. i. ദ'നസ്ഥിതനായി Bhg.

vēd/?/am S. (വിദ്). 1. Knowledge, science ധനുര്‍വേ. etc. 2. revelation, chiefly the 4 ancient scriptures ഋഗ്യജൂസ്സാമാഥര്‍വ്വണങ്ങള്‍. In Mal. are വേ. ഉള്ള ബ്രാഹ്മണരും & വേ. ഇല്ലാത്ത ബ്രാ. Anach. വേ. ചൊല്ക, ഓതുക to recite. — പൂര്‍വ്വപക്ഷമാം വേ. contains: കര്‍മ്മ കാണ്ഡം, ഉപാസനകാ., ജ്ഞാനകാ. Bhg. അ ഞ്ചാമതൊരു വേ. = Bhāratam, Bhr. (ഉപവേ. secondary = ധനുര്‍ —, ഗന്ധര്‍വ്വ — Music, ആ യുര്‍ — Physic, അര്‍ത്ഥം — Commentary). 3. religion; Islam is generally recognized as നാ ലാം വേ.
