Hence: കാററാടി what moves in the wind, paperkite. കാററിന്മകന്‍ Bhr. Bhīmasēna. കാററുതക്കം fair wind. കാററുവായ്, കാറെറാഴിവു current of wind. കാറേറാല 1. fire-fan, winnowing fan. 2. cocoanut branches laid over a grass roof to secure it against the wind.

kūḍam S. 1.Horn, peak, roof ശരകൂടത്തെ ചെയ്തു Bhr. shot arrows enough to serve as roof, അവന്‍റെ മാടവും കൂടവും vu. stately dwelling. കൂടം വീണുപോയേടം KU. (= മാടം, royal income from permitting repairs of mansions). 2. heavy hammer കൂടങ്ങളും എന്തി RC. (or mountain tops?) കൊല്ലന്‍കൂടം MR. (is taxed). കൂടവും മുട്ടിയും എടുത്തു TR. 3. trap, cheat, illusion = മായ (phil.). 4. cause കൂടം എന്നിയേ KR.; root. കൂ. പറിച്ചു eradicated. Hence: കൂടയന്ത്രം a trap. കൂടസാക്ഷി = കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷി. കൂടസ്ഥന്‍ 1. standing on the top, God. 2. (phil.) inhabiting മായ; the soul of the world. കൂടോപദ്രവം, vu. കൂടോത്രം Vl.2. sorcery. കൂ. ചെയ്ക to bewitch, ഒഴിക്ക to counteract charms.

kanya കന്യക S. (കനീയസ്സ്, see ക ന്നു) 1. kur̀avaǹ T. M. C. Tu. (കുറു = കുന്നു), f. കുറത്തി 1. Wandering tribe of basket-makers, snake-catchers & Gipsies, hereditary enemies of Brahmans. കുരങ്ങു ചത്ത കുറവന്‍ prov. one, who has lost his livelihood. ചപ്പിടിക്കളികുറവ നു KU.
