(4.) mud worked upsiantingly against a wall to strengthen it (= counter-fort, Arch.). (1) the back of a chair കസേലയുടെ ചാര്‍. 2. confidant, trusted person; ചാരായിട്ടു നി കിതി കൊടുക്കുന്നവന്‍ a third person, (see ചാരുകാരന്‍, ചാരുമുറി). 3. honorific by- name (like cousin, friend) used by Nāyars, as ഗോവിന്ദച്ചാര്‍ friend Gōvinda, കുരങ്ങു ച്ചാര്‍ (in fable).
