ചാരുക : čāruγa T. M. (aC. സാരു, Te. C. ശേ രു = ചേരുക); past t. aM. ചാര്‍ന്നു, mod. ചാരി. 1. v. n. To lean against, (= ചരിയുക, ചായ്ക). പീ ടികയുടെ നിരെക്കു ചാരിനിന്നു jud.; also with Acc. അശോകത്തെ ചാരിനിന്നു Bhr., ചന്ദനം ചാ; ചാരിയാല്‍ ചാരിയതു മണക്കും prov.; തൂ ണെ ചാരിനില്ക്ക TP. 2. to rely upon, to be attached to; ചാരി എഴുതുക to write in confidence. 3. to be shut. വാതില്‍ ചാരി ഇരി ക്ക V1. = അടഞ്ഞു. 4. a.v. to place against വാള്‍ മൂലക്കല്‍ ചാരു, വാള്‍ ദൈവത്തിന്നു കൊ ണ്ടച്ചാരിവെക്ക TP.; കൊണ്ടച്ചാരിയതു നില്ക്കം, കുരങ്ങിന്ന് ഏണി ചാരൊല്ല prov.; ഏണി ചാരി കടക്ക MR.; നുകം ചാരിയാല്‍ കുലയാത്തതു KU., a tree strong enough to withstand the pressure of a yoke of oxen. 5. aM. to put on പീ താംബരം ഹരി ചാര്‍ന്നതു നേരത്തു KR. (= ചാലിക്ക). ചാരുകാരന്‍ a third person, in whose name a deed is executed at the desire of the person that advances the money. ചാരുകണക്കു MR. ജമ ചാരുകാരന്‍ പേരില്‍ തിരിപ്പാന്‍ MR. ചാരുകസേല an easy-chair. ചാരുകാല്‍ support, prop; ചിറകള്‍ക്കു ചാ. ചാ രുന്നതു MC. (of dams). ചാരുതലയണ, — മെത്ത etc. a divan, sofa, etc. ചാരുപടി 1. a seat in a house to receive strangers. 2. a window, whose shutter may serve as sleeping place. ചാരുമാനം So. prop; reliance; slope. ചാരുമുറി 1. a deed of relinquishment from a third person, whose name has been made use of, without his having any interest in the transaction. 2. relinquishment of the items of account, or acquittance for them (= ഇണക്കു). ചാരെഴുത്തു confidential document. ചാര്‍ 1. (4.) mud worked upsiantingly against a wall to strengthen it (= counter-fort, Arch.). (1) the back of a chair കസേലയുടെ ചാര്‍. 2. confidant, trusted person; ചാരായിട്ടു നി കിതി കൊടുക്കുന്നവന്‍ a third person, (see ചാരുകാരന്‍, ചാരുമുറി). 3. honorific by- name (like cousin, friend) used by Nāyars, as ഗോവിന്ദച്ചാര്‍ friend Gōvinda, കുരങ്ങു ച്ചാര്‍ (in fable). VN. ചാര്‍ച്ച relation, by blood (ചോരചാര്‍ച്ചയു ള്ളവന്‍ V2.) കെട്ടിചാര്‍ച്ച connexion by marriage (= ചേര്‍ച്ച). കൊണ്ടും കൊടുത്തും നര ന്മാര്‍ക്കും ചാ'കള്‍ ഉണ്ടായ്വരും Bhr. ചാ'യില്ല ചേര്‍ച്ചയില്ല no friends of any kind. ചാ'യും ചേര്‍ച്ചയും വേഴ്ചയുമായി CG. with all connections & relations.
