čukka B. Vinegar (= ചുറുക്ക); dregs, lees of wine or arrack, V1.(= മട്ടു). Tdbh. of ചു ക്രം sour? — No. ചുക്കാനം = റാക്കു ഇറക്കിയ തിന്‍റെ മിഞ്ചല്‍; Palg. ചുക്കള്ളു (So. കോട). ചുക്കാന്‍ Ar. sukkān Helm, rudder; paddle. ചു. പിടിക്ക to steer V1.; ചു'ങ്കാരന്‍ steersman.

čukkụ T. M. C. Te. (shrivel = ചുരുക്കു, or Tdbh. ശുഷ്കം) Dry, as ചുക്കടക്ക, ചുക്കങ്കായി of plantains. കുറുക്കുല നെയ്യില്‍ വറുത്ത ചുക്കാ ന്പോള്‍ വാങ്ങി MM. ചുക്കാക വെന്തു a med. 2.dried ginger. ചുക്കുവെള്ളം കുടിച്ചു med. prov. ഭാരം ചക്കെക്കു പലം ചുക്കു prov. (in praise of dry ginger). S. what is worthless. Hence: ചുക്കുക, ക്കി to grow dry, shrivel (also ചുങ്ങുക).
