čṇḍal ചൂണ്ട (T. തൂണ്ടില്‍) 1. Fishing hook ചൂണ്ടലേ മത്സ്യം കണക്കേ ഗ്രഹി ക്കുന്നിവളെ നീ KR., ചൂ. ഇട്ടു മത്സ്യത്തെ പിടി ക്ക Sk., ചൂ. കുത്തുക etc. — ചൂണ്ടല്‍കാരന്‍ V2. an angler. — ചൂണ്ടല്‍ക്കണ & ചൂ.പ്പറ. fishing rod; ചൂണ്ടല്‍പ്പന = ആനപ്പന, whose branches serve for fishing rods, called ചൂണ്ടക്കോല്‍ & ചൂണ്ടു കോല്‍. 2. pointing out ഞാന്‍ ചൂണ്ടും ചൂണ്ടെക്കു നേരേ ചെന്നാല്‍ TP.

čūṇḍuγa. (fr. ചുണ്ടു & ചീണ്ടുക; Te. C. ചൂടി aim, Te. ചൂപു to see) 1. To point at, to aim എന്മുഖം തന്നിലേ ചൂണ്ടിച്ചൂണ്ടി CG. അ മാത്യന്‍ അതാ പോകുന്നു എന്നു ചൂണ്ടി Mud. beckoned. ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടിക്കൊടുത്താര്‍ Bhr. pointed out. ചൂണ്ടിച്ചൂണ്ടിപ്പറഞ്ഞു alluded, hit with words. 2. to shoot with a cross-bow, to catch fish V1. (ചൂണ്ടല്‍), to trim a lamp വിളക്കു ചൂ. V2. CV. ചൂണ്ടിക്ക V1. ചൂണ്ടന്‍വിരല്‍ (see ചുണ്ടു) also: ചൂണ്ടോന്നി V2. (ചൂണ്ടാണി B.) forefinger ചൂ ണ്ടൂന്നിയോടു പെരുവിരലോടു നടുവേ വര യില്‍ MM., ചൂണ്ടോന്തിവിരല്‍ Tantr. ചൂണ്ടിപ്പണയം indicated pledge, which is liable for the debt; deed of mortgage without possession of the mortgaged property. ചൂണ്ടുവില്ലു V1. a cross-bow.

par̀a T. M. C. Te. (T. also feather & word). 1. (= പറി) ചൂണ്ടല്‍പ്പറ a fishing- rod. 5. (= പറവ) bird. 6. what belongs to Par̀ayars. Hence. പറക്കാര a thistle (Genesis 3.) പറക്കള്ളി (7) a Par̀aya woman. പറക്കുടി (7) a Par̀aya hut, also പറമാടം. പറക്കുലം the Par̀aya tribe ബ്രാഹ്മണബാല ന്മാര്‍ ഉപനയം കഴിവോളം പ. Anach. പറക്കൊട്ട (3) a measuring basket. പറകെട്ടി Cymbidium aloifolinm (കാഞ്ഞിരപ്പ. an Epidendron on Strychnos; see under തുടി). പറച്ചുണ്ട a sensitive plant, Mimosa B. or Lycopodium. പറച്ചെറുമന്‍ m., — മി f. Cal. — Palg. a Malayāḷam Par̀ayan, also called ചന്പുതിന്നിപ്പ. So., പൈതിന്നിപ്പ. Cal., പുഴുതിന്നിപ്പറയന്‍ No. see പറയന്‍. പറച്ചേരി a Par̀ayar village. പറജാതി (6) birds. പറയന്‍ m., പറയി f. (of T. Pariahs പറച്ചി) a caste of drum-beaters, living by making mats, baskets, besides witchcraft, etc. പറ യന്‍ ൭൨ അടിതിരിയേണം KN. Their tribes (പന്തിരുകുലം) esp. പറയന്‍, പെരുന്പ., മൂത്തരവപ്പ.
