ārtam (ആ + ഋ) part. Afflicted അ വള്‍ ആര്‍ത്തയായി CG. suffered (in childbirth). ആര്‍ത്തനായി Mud. despairing. ആര്‍ത്തനാദം shriek, groan, alarm, lament. ആര്‍ത്തപരായണനായ നാരായണന്‍ N. the help of the distressed. ആര്‍ത്തി S. 1. affliction വിയോഗാര്‍ത്തി Nal. ആ ര്‍ത്തികളയുന്ന തീര്‍ത്ഥം KR. a saving water. — vu. ആര്‍ത്തിയില്ല he is not poor. 2. chiefly thirst ആ. പിടിക്ക pant after water, etc. 3. (comp. ആര്‍ക്ക) crying out.
