puḷi 5. (Te. Tu. puli, Tu. puḷi bitter, C. puṇi tamarind). 1. Sourness, acidity മോരിലേ പു. prov. ഉവര്‍പ്പു. of saltwater; any fermentation. 2. any acid ചോനകനാരങ്ങപ്പുളിയില്‍ അരെച്ചു a. med. — ഐന്പുളി: a. tamarind (see 3.). b. കോ ല്‍പ്പു. a leaf. c. അന്പാഴം Spondias. d. നാരകം e. വരിച്ചികം Hibiscus or ഞെരിങ്ങാന്പു. (കൂര്‍ക്കാന്പു.), വാളന്പു. or കോല്‍പു., കുടന്പുളി, ഞാന ആറാം മാസത്തില്‍ ഉപ്പും പുളി യും കൂട്ടി ചോറുണ്ടവന്‍ വിചാരിച്ചോ vu. don't chafe me. പുളികുടി a ceremony observed by women, in the 4th, 6th, 8th month of their 1st pregnancy = പുംസവനം. GP69., പ ഴുത്തപുളി med.) പുളിഞരന്പു fibres of tamarind fruits & leaves. പുളിഞ്ചാറു a sour sauce (of Brahmans). പുളിഞ്ചി the soap-berry-tree, Sapindus saponaria. പുളിന്തേക്കു TP. a timber used in building ships.
