ā S. Hither, towards, till; in Cpds. as ആകണ്ഠം ഭുജിക്ക KR. up to the neck or throat (to eat one's fill) — ആകണ്ഠമഗ്നന്‍ UR.

āsannam S. (സദ്) Near, ആസ ന്നകാ impending death. ആസാദ്യം obtainable V1. പാതാളം ആസാദ്യ CC. going to Hades.

ābha S. (ഭാ) Light, brightness. ആഭ ക ലര്‍ന്ന രത്നങ്ങള്‍ Mud. മന്ദഹാസാഭ Nal.

āšuram S. (അസുര) Diabolical, savage (as marrying by purchase). ആസുരി 1. surgery. 2. the 9th ദ്വാരം of the human body = ഉപസ്ഥം VCh.

āmam. S. 1.(G. 'ōmos) Raw, undressed, undigested. ആമാശയം stomach (opp. പക്വാ ശയം). 2. sickness, chiefly slimy stools. ആ മജ്വരം diarrhœa with fever. 3. M. stocks for hands & feet തടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോയി ആമ ത്തില്‍ ഇട്ടു TR. (= തോളം).
