čeδumbụ (T. ചെതിള്‍) Scales of fish, also ചെതുന്പല്‍ MC. (ചെത്തല്‍ & ചുണങ്ങു). ചെത്ത see ചെററ. ചെത്തം Tdbh., ശബ്ദം q.v. ചെത്തി = ചെക്കി q.v. also ചെവ്വന്തി.

To be bruised, squashed കൈ കള്‍ മലയുടെ കീഴീയി ഞെരിഞ്ഞു ചതഞ്ഞിതു UR.— ചതയപ്പെടുക V1. to be humbled. ചതെക്ക v.a. To squash, crush, pound, bray (= ഇടിക്ക). ഇവ ചതെച്ചു എണ്ണയിലിട്ടു MM. VN.
