taḷi T. M. (aC. തളെan inn, S. സ്ഥലി) 1. Temple. തളിയില്‍ ദേവന്‍, ത. ഭഗവാന്‍ the God of a capital or dynasty. തളിയും സങ്കേത വും രക്ഷിക്ക KU. (duty of kings). 2. a holy building (asylum V1.), assembly hall, as for the representatives of the Brahman aristocracy, നാലു കഴകത്തിന്നു നാലു ത. തീ൪ത്തു KU. (മേത്തളി, കീഴ്ത്തളി, നിടിയ ത., ചിങ്ങപുരത്തു ത. near Koḍungalūr). 3. C. Tu. M. sprinkling water അടിയു തളിയും, (തളിക്ക). തളിപ്പറന്പു N. pr. the chief temple of Kōlanāḍu. S. ലക്ഷ്മീപുരം. തളിയാതിരി 1. Brahman president; each of the 4 കഴകം deputed one unmarried Taḷiyāδiri, who ruled for 3 years KU. 2. a Brahman deputy in a king's council.

tāram S. 1. (തര്‍) Crossing, pervading. 2. loud, high (of sound) താ'മായി രോദിച്ചു KR. 3. T. M. C. a copper-coin, ½ a pice or 1/3 fanam (prh. താര്‍ = ചാര്‍ H. four). പണവും താ'വും, ത. അഴിയാതേ, താ. കൊണ്ടുതുട്ടി prov. 4. = താകരം. താരം ഈന്പി (3) a miser.

To salute by joining the hands; അടിക്കും മുടിക്കും തിരുമേനിക്കും വളരേ കൈക്കൂട്ടിത്തൊ ഴുതു TP. before the king; daily worship of Nāyars (without prostration, നമസ്കാരം) അന്പ ലത്തില്‍ തൊഴാന്‍ ചെന്നു MR. With Dat. of the object ആദിത്യദേവ നിണക്കു തൊഴുന്നെ ങ്ങള്‍ CG.; (often കൈതൊഴുതീടിനാര്‍). With Acc. അവളെയും നന്നായ്ത്തൊഴുതു KR. bid farewell. നായന്മാര്‍ തൊഴുതയപ്പിച്ചു KU. തിരിഞ്ഞ യോദ്ധ്യയും തൊഴുതു രാമന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു KR. 2. met. to acknowledge superiority. തിങ്കള്‍ മണ്ഡലം തൊഴും ആലവട്ടങ്ങള്‍ AR. finer than. കാര്‍തൊ ഴും വേണിമാര്‍ CG. blacker than a cloud.

tāḷ T. M. C. (താളു to bear Te. C. Tu.) 1. Stalk, stem, chiefly of edible plants, കറി താ ളല്ലേ, താളിന്നുപ്പില്ല prov., താളും തകരയും തിന്നു കൊള്ളാം Anj. live poorly. 2. T. So. Palg. a sheet of paper. 3. aM. T. the foot താള്‍ ഇര ണ്ടും വണങ്ങി RC. താളടി (loc.) stubble = തണ്ടുപുല്ലു. താളൂന്നി? tāraγam S. (തര്‍) 1. Getting over; ferrying, saving. 2. a star (=താര), also താര ക (താരകജാലം കാണായി CG., താരകഗണം Bhg.) താരകന്‍ a pilot; a saviour.

teruḷaγa T. To acquire clear perception (= തെരി). തെരുണ്ട പെണ്‍ = തിരണ്ട q. v. — Hence തെരുട്ടുക T. to acquaint, M. a part of the grand ceremony (തിരട്ടുകല്യാണം) performed with girls. തെര്‍പ്പ Tdbh. = ദര്‍ഭ.
