tāra S. (സ്തര്‍) 1. A star. താരാപതി, താരേ ശന്‍ the moon. 2. T. M. (താരം 2) a large trumpet, ഊതും താര, താളം താരയും Pay. 3. Tdbh., ധാര, pouring on one കൊഴുപ്പനീരും പാലും കൂട്ടിത്താര ഇടുക a. med.; താരമുറിയാതേ Ti, incessantly, uninterruptedly, as showers, firing. 4. (ധാര?) marks or lines drawn on wood (നൂത ്താര; വണ്ടിത്താര Palg. wheel-ruts, വ. കാ ണ്മാന്‍ പോക after the തേരോട്ടം in Koḍumb/?/ is over) & ornamental incisions (= താറു 3).

taṇṇaḷ (aM. T. താങ്കള്‍) pl. of താന്‍. 1.
