With ഒഴിക്ക, തീര്‍ക്ക, കെടുക്ക to quench thirst; with 2 Dat. തണ്ണീര്‍ക്കു ദാ. പെരുതുഞാക്കു TP.; ദാഹം കെടാ ഞ്ഞൊരു കണ്ണിണ CG. eyes which could not be satisfied. ദാഹശാന്ത്യര്‍ത്ഥം VetC. denV. ദാഹിക്ക to thirst, തണ്ണീര്‍ക്കു ദാ. AR. — ദാ ഹിച്ചവെള്ളം തരുമോ TP. water for my thirst. ദാ. കൊടുക്കാത്തവന്‍ M. = ദുഷ്ടന്‍.

dānam S. (L. donum) A gift ദാനം എന്നു ള്ളതെല്ലാം ദാതാവിന്‍ വശം എന്നു ചൊല്ലിക്കേ ള്‍പു KR.; ദാനം ചെയ്ത പശുവിന്നു പല്ലു നോ ക്കരുതു prov. ദാനപത്രം, — പ്രമാണം a deed of gift. ദാനശീലന്‍ liberal. Bhr. — ദാനശീലത്വം Bhg.

dēvanam S. (radic;ദിവ്) Playing, esp. with dice രണ്ടുപേരും ദേ. ചെയ്തു Nal., (hence ദ്യൂതം). (ദേവ): ദേവനാഗരി the common Sanscrit character. ദേവനായകന്‍ PT. Indra. ദേവയോനി a demi-god.
