dhvamsam S. Falling to pieces. ഹിം സകൊണ്ട് ഒരു പദത്തെ ലഭിച്ചാല്‍ ധ്വം. ഉണ്ട തിന്നു ChVr. disappearing (= ക്ഷയം); hence: കുലധ്വംസകന്‍ destroyer of his family KR. ധ്വംസനം (act.) destroying; destruction പാ പധ്വം'മായ യാഗം Bhr.; മാരധ്വം'ബ്രഹ്മാദി കള്‍ക്കും നീക്കാമല്ല Bhr. the troublesome power of Kāma. ധ്വം. ചെയ്തുപോക money etc, to be lost. denV., f. i. ധര്‍മ്മത്തെ ധ്വംസിക്കുന്ന പുത്രന്‍ PT. a law-breaker. part. ധ്വസ്തം fallen, gone ധ്വസ്തതമോബലം Bhg.

dhyānam S. (ധീ). Contemplation നിന്‍ മുഖാംബുജം ധ്യാ. ചെയ്തു തന്നേ ജീവനം ധരി ച്ചു Nal.; ധ്യാ. ഉറപ്പിച്ചു മൌനം ദീക്ഷിച്ചു ഹോ മം തുടങ്ങിനാന്‍ AR. fixing the mind on the Deity; meditation പരമേ ഗുരവേ നമ: (sic) ഇ തൊക്കയും ധ്യാനം (huntg.) formula of prayer. adj. എന്നെ ചിത്തേ ധ്യാനനായിരിപ്പവന്‍ Bhg. meditating. ധ്യാനനിഷ്ഠന്‍ settled in meditation. ധ്യാനമൂകം absorbed in meditation & dumb in consequence, ധ്യാ'ങ്ങളായിമയിലുകള്‍ KR. ധ്യാനയോഗം profound meditation. ധ്യാനശക്തി Si Pu. = സങ്കല്പശക്തി. ധ്യാനി intent on contemplation. denV. ധ്യാനിക്ക to contemplate കണ്ണുമടെച്ചു ധാനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന AR. — With Acc. to invoke ബ്രഹ്മത്തെ ധ്യാനിപ്പോരും KeiN,; അന്നേരം അയ്യപ്പനെ ധ്യാ. huntg. part. ധ്യാതം, ധ്യേയം the object of contemplation, മനസ്സിങ്കല്‍ ധ്യേയനാം എന്നേ Bhr.

dhūbam S. (G. thyō, L. thus) Incense & aromatic vapour. കാഷ്ഠത്തിന്നു ധൂ. കാട്ടൊല്ല prov.; ധൂപദീപം കാട്ടുക; ധൂപനിവേദ്യാദികളെ ക്കഴിച്ചു VetC. (in ഹോമം). ധൂപക്കാല്‍, — ക്കുററി (Nasr.) a censer. ധൂപനം 1. offering incense. 2. = ധൂപം, ധൂപവര്‍ഗ്ഗം. denV. ധൂപിക്ക to burn incense, ദീപിച്ചുള്ള ധൂപം വെച്ചു ധൂപിച്ചാള്‍ അകന്തന്നില്‍ എങ്ങും CG.; ഗന്ധപുഷ്പങ്ങള്‍ ധൂ. VCh. അഷ്ടഗന്ധമിട്ടു ധൂ.; also of tobacco smoke, vu. ധൂപിക f., (m. ധൂപകന്‍) preparing incense, പരിമളവസ്തുകൊണ്ടു പുകെക്കും ധൂപികാജ നം KR.

dhāra S. (ധാവ്, ധൌ) 1. A jet, as of water വ൪ഷധാ. കള്‍ തൂണുകള്‍ പോലേ വീണു Bhg. a continuous stream. കണ്ണില്‍നിന്നു ചാടീടുന്ന ധാ. KumK.; ഹ൪ഷാശ്രുധാരയും സോദരമൂ൪ദ്ധ നി വ൪ഷിച്ചു AR. — met. വാഗമൃതധാരയി ങ്കല്‍ തൃപ്തിയില്ല KeiN. 2. a medicinal treatment by having water, oil, etc. continually poured on the body ഘൃതധാ., ശിരോധാര, hence ധാര ചെയ്ക, ധാരക്കലം, — ക്കിടാരം, — ച്ചട്ടി,— ത്തോ ണി,— പ്പാത്തി a. med. കാച്ചീട്ടു വേണം ധാരയി ടുവാന്‍ a. med. താരപോരുക, കോരുക TP.; ഇ വ എണ്ണയില്‍ ഇടിടു താരകൊള്‍്ക, താരയിടുക MM. 3. (ധാവനം) the edge of a sword or instrument V1., ശിതധാര Bhg. ധാരാഗൃഹം KR. bathing-room with showerbath. ധാരാധരം (1) a cloud, (3) a sword.

dhavaḷam S. (ധാവനം) White, fair ചന്ര ധ'ങ്ങളായുള്ള ഭിത്തി Bhg. ധളവായി No. = ദളവായി A commander. ധാടി. ധാടൃം=ധാ൪ഷ്ടൃം q.v., ചാടുവചന ധാ ടികളോടിട കൂടുക ChVr. sallies of witty sayings; (C. smartness).

dharmam S. (ധ൪, G. thesmos) 1. The law and its observance, രക്ഷിക്ക തന്നേ ഭ്രപന്‍െറ ധ'മായതു VyM.; ധ. വിരിഞ്ചനാല്‍ മനുവിനാ യ്ക്കൊണ്ടുക്തമായി Bhg.; വേദവിധിയാം ധ'ത്തെ മാനിക്ക Bhr.; കല്യാണമാ൪ഗ്ഗധ൪മ്മങ്ങള്‍ ധ'ങ്ങള്‍, മററല്ലാതത് എല്ലാം അധ. അല്ലോ നൃണാം Bhg.; നാലു വക ധ. ഉള്ളില്‍ ധരിപ്പതു (സത്യം തപോ ദയാത്യാഗം); ഇത്ഥം ചതുഷ്പാദങ്ങള്‍ ധ'ത്തിന്നു Bhg.; വ൪ണ്ണധ൪മ്മങ്ങള്‍ caste-rules. തങ്കലേ ധ'മാ യ വേദശാസ്ത്രങ്ങള്‍ ഒന്നും അഭ്യസിയായ്ക Vil.; അമാത്യധ.
