pūδam S. (പൂ to cleanse). Pure — പൂതനാ യുള്ളൊരു താതന്‍, പൂതരായുള്ള സോദരന്മാര്‍ CG. (= noble). പൂതണക്കു (പൂ). A Stereulia, Buch. or Gyrocarpus, or = ഭൂര്‍ജ്ജം.

pišāraǹ, പിഷാരകന്‍ (&പി ടാരന്‍, also വിഷഹാരി). A class of temple-servants, Ambalavāsis; their house പിഷാരം. വിഷാരവടി, പിഷാരോടി KU. a title among them, priests of Sanyāsi character (B. pšārōḍi).

pōḍuγa (T. to throw, strike, Te. C. pōṭu a stab, C. poḍe to strike). 1. pōγa 5. 1. To go, go away, go towards. തന്‍ ഇടത്തിന്നു പോയിനാന്‍ Mud. ചെ വിട്ടില്‍ പോകാ prov. does not enter. ലക്ഷ്മ ണന്‍ ഇനി ഉണ്ടോ ജീവിച്ചിരിപ്പാന്‍ പോകുന്നു KR. will he wish to live any longer? ഇനി നിങ്ങള്‍ വിചാരിപ്പാന്‍ പോണ്ടാ TR. (=പോ കേണ്ട) no delay granted. പോകുംവഴി, പോ കുംചാല്‍ V1. a loophole, excuse, remedy. പോയാണ്ടു last year. പോകവയെല്ലാം Bhg. = നില്ക്ക leave it aside. 2. to be lost, spoiled, cured എന്നാല്‍ പെരുവയറു പോം a. med.; എ നിക്ക് എന്തു പോയി what do I lose by it? പോയതു കഴിച്ചു MR. deducting the plants that were spoiled. കണ്ണുപോയെനിക്കെന്നും കാ ലുപോയെനിക്കെന്നും KR. (in a fire). പോകാ തവണ്ണം കീര്‍ത്തി Sk. undying fame. 3. to be able, know ജപകര്‍മ്മാദി ഒന്നും പോകാ Bhg. പൂര്‍വ്വവൈരത്തിന്‍ ശക്തി എന്നുളളത് ആര്‍ക്കും പോകയും ഇല്ല VilvP. As aux.Verb it has a., passive meaning രാജ നാല്‍ കട്ടുപോയി, എന്തുകുലചെയ്തുപോയി KR.; അരിഞ്ഞു പോമുടല്‍ ശരങ്ങളാല്‍, അര്‍ത്ഥം ദാനം ചെയ്തു പോയി Bhr. is given away. കുട പിടി ച്ചു പോയി; വസ്ത്രം കളഞ്ഞു പോയി Nal. b., expresses, with intr. verbs, the final turn of an action വെന്തുപോയി, ചത്തുപോക to die off, die & vanish. പാന്പായി പോക നീ CG. (a curse); ദുഷ്ടനായിപോം will turn out. c., the undesirable character of any action (opp. വ രിക). അശേഷം കൊടുത്തു പോയാന്‍ Nal. unaccountably. ബ്രാഹ്മണരെത്തിന്നു പോകാതിരി ക്കേണം Bhr. go so far as to eat. വെട്ടിക്കൊ ന്നുപോയാല്‍ if a fight ensues. പല പിഴ ചെയ്തു പോയേന്‍ Bhr.; നായരെക്കൊത്തികൊന്നുപോ യി TP.
