koṭṭil T. Cowhouse (comp. കൊട്ടാരം) 1. shed, barn, workshop (chiefly of കൊല്ലന്‍, also of ഒസ്സാന്‍). കൊട്ടിലില്‍ കട്ടിലിട്ടാല്‍ കയ്യ നും കട്ടിലേറും prov. പന്തലും കൊട്ടിലും കെട്ടി ച്ചമെക്ക Nal. temporary shelter. പടക്കൊട്ടില്‍ KR. barracks. 2. house (hon.). കൊട്ടിലകത്തു in the innermost room, where the evening light is first placed for the ancestors. Palg. also = പാണ്ടിശാല.

ghaḍyam T. കട്ടിയം (prh. ഘടി beating the gong) with ചൊല്ലുക, കൂറുക So. To proclaim = കൊട്ടാടുക. ഘണഘണ (Onomatop.) Sound of ringing a bell ഘാ.ാ ഘോഷം KR. ഘണ്ട S. (ഘടി) bell. ഘണ്ടാരവേണ പടിഞ്ഞു Bhr. elephants succumbing in battle. ഘണ്ടാകര്‍ണ്ണന്‍ having bells in the ears; N. pr. a Paradēvata.
