čuṭṭi T. M. (ചുട്ടു) 1. Mark or jewel on the forehead. ചു. കുത്തുക to paint the face, So. rather ചൊട്ടി. 2. (C. Tu. സുട്ടി) smartness, quickness വാക്കിന്നു നല്ല ചുട്ടി ഉണ്ടു. ചുട്ടു T. aM. pointing out = ചൂണ്ടുക; natural mark on the skin f.i. of cows, children പാണ്ടുകള്‍ ചുട്ടുകളും Bhg 10.

čuṇḍu T. M. (T. ചുട്ടു = ചൂണ്ടു) What points (C. Te. ചുഞ്ചു) 1. A short beak or bill (the long bill is: കൊക്കു). പൈങ്കിളിച്ചുണ്ടോടു സംഗത്തെ കോലുന്ന നാസിക CG. മരാമരം ചു ണ്ടും കടിച്ചു പൊരിച്ചാന്‍ KR. 2. lips (= ചി റി) ചുണ്ടിന്മേല്‍ വാളൂന്നി നിന്നുകൊള്‍ TP. കോ മളച്ചുണ്ടു പിളുക്കും CG. (in asking the mother for food). ചുണ്ടത്തു പറക to lisp, mutter — snout V1. വഞ്ചിയുടെ ചു. the peak of a boat V1. the point of a sickle, etc. ചുണ്ടന്‍ 1. pointed; pickaxe. 2. blubber-lipped V1.; fem. ചുണ്ടത്തി. ചുണ്ടന്‍വിരല്‍, ചുണ്ടോന്നി (a med. ചുണ്ടൂന്നി) the forefinger (T. ചുട്ടുവിരല്‍), ചുണ്ടോന്‍റെ വിരല്‍ V1. ചുണ്ടി 1. a small bird. 2. = ശുണ്ഠി dry ginger, ചു. പറക to quarrel. čṇḍal ചൂണ്ട (T. തൂണ്ടില്‍) 1. Fishing hook ചൂണ്ടലേ മത്സ്യം കണക്കേ ഗ്രഹി ക്കുന്നിവളെ നീ KR., ചൂ. ഇട്ടു മത്സ്യത്തെ പിടി ക്ക Sk., ചൂ. കുത്തുക etc. — ചൂണ്ടല്‍കാരന്‍ V2. an angler. — ചൂണ്ടല്‍ക്കണ & ചൂ.പ്പറ. fishing rod; ചൂണ്ടല്‍പ്പന = ആനപ്പന, whose branches serve for fishing rods, called ചൂണ്ടക്കോല്‍ & ചൂണ്ടു കോല്‍. 2. pointing out ഞാന്‍ ചൂണ്ടും ചൂണ്ടെക്കു നേരേ ചെന്നാല്‍ TP.

čūṇḍuγa. (fr. ചുണ്ടു & ചീണ്ടുക; Te. C. ചൂടി aim, Te. ചൂപു to see) 1. To point at, to aim എന്മുഖം തന്നിലേ ചൂണ്ടിച്ചൂണ്ടി CG. അ മാത്യന്‍ അതാ പോകുന്നു എന്നു ചൂണ്ടി Mud. beckoned. ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടിക്കൊടുത്താര്‍ Bhr. pointed out. ചൂണ്ടിച്ചൂണ്ടിപ്പറഞ്ഞു alluded, hit with words. 2. to shoot with a cross-bow, to catch fish V1.
