(= കൂട്ടം, കാള) 1. a demon, mischievous spirit, which must be propitiated, ghost (ചൂട്ടക്കൂളി ignis fatuus). കൂട്ടരാ യുള്ളതോ കൂളികള്‍ CG., കാളികൂളികളോടും ഭൂരവര്‍ണ്ണങ്ങളോടും Bhg.; കൂളികള്‍ കാളിയു മായി പോക Bhr. (a curse). 2. a young female buffalo So. (C. ഗ്രളി, sacred bull). 3. diving (= ഊളി from കുളി?) കൂളിയിടുക, പായുക. In SiPu. കൂളികള്‍ are said to sport in streams of blood, കൂളിയിട്ടങ്ങനെ മുങ്ങി യും പൊങ്ങിയും Si Pu 2. കൂളിയാമ a water-animal.
