kōṭṭiya A seaboat (Ceylon).

kayar̀uγa = ഏറുക, കരയേറുക v. n. 1. To increase, rise. സ്ഥാനത്തു കയറിനിന്നു TR. raised himself to royal rank. എഴുതി കയറി TP. having done with writing. പണി കയറുക to rise from labour. 2. to ascend, climb up, embark. കുളിച്ചുക., ആടു കാടു കയറുന്പോലെ prov. വീട്ടില്‍ കയറി (= കടന്നു, opp. കിഴിഞ്ഞു, കയറിയതിന്മേല്‍നിന്നു കിഴിയുക to give in). പ റന്പത്തു കയറി കെട്ടി അടക്കി TR. took possession. (also ഭൂതം കയറി of demoniacal possession). കഞ്ഞിക്കു കയറിക്കൊള്‍ക to go home. കയറന്‍ N. pr. a Paradēvata. കയററം increase, steep ascent; attack, assault. മരംകയററം KU. climbing palm trees. കയററു = ഏററു f. i. കേററുതോണി loaded boat. കയററുക v. a. 1. to increase, raise. നൂററിന്നു ൩ പണം കണ്ടു നികിതിയില്‍ കയററി, പ ത്തിന്നു ൨ കയററി അധികം എടുപ്പിച്ചു 2. to put up, put on, ship. മുളകും നെല്ലും കയ ററി അയപ്പാന്‍ TR. to send by boat. ആനപ്പു റത്തു കയററി TP. തെങ്ങിന്‍മേല്‍ തീയനെ ക.. kuḍuma & കുടുമ്മ (T. — മി) 1. Narrow point, bird's crest, pivot of door used as hinge (മേല്ക്കു — കീഴ്ക്കു), tendon let into a mortise (കു ടുമത്തുള mortise); വില്ലിന്‍ കു. Bhr.; helmet's crest ഉച്ചിക്കുടുമ്മ; ഉച്ചയില്‍ കുടുമയും കൈക്കു നല്ലുടുന്പിന്‍തോലും ഇട്ടുകെട്ടി KR. 2. the lock of hair worn as caste distinction മുന്പില്‍ കു. യായിരിക്കുന്നവര്‍ TR. as Nāyers. വെച്ചാ ല്‍ കു. prov. ൫ കു. വെച്ചു ചിരച്ചു MC. punishment of rogues, മുടി ഒക്ക ചിരെച്ച് ൫ കു. വെ ച്ചയക്ക Um V. കുടുമ ചുററിപ്പിടിച്ചു തല്ലി Mud. seized by the lock. കുടുമെക്കു മീതേ മര്‍മ്മം ഇല്ല prov. — Kinds, chiefly മുങ്കു., പിങ്കടുമ. കുടുമനീര്‍ (& കുടിമ) a tenure almost equal to a freehold, by which all the body of property rights (7/8) is gained without the crowning dignity (the right of transferring the property to another); a payment not exceeding 2 fanams is annually made to the possessor of the title, who can no more redeem the land. ദേവസ്വം ജന്മം ആ പ റന്പു കുടിമനീര്‍ വില്ക്ക TR. കുടിമജന്മം W. holding land on a quitrent. കുടുമി (T. = കുടുമ) കുടുമിച്ചെട്ടി a caste, which prepares കുടുമിയവില്‍ rice beaten very thin. കുടുന്പി (loc.) the top of a handle above the iron of axe, hoe, etc. കുടുമ്മച്ചാത്തന്‍ crested bird of prey. കുടുന്പര്‍ N. pr. Embalers & carriers of loads (= കടുപ്പട്ടര്‍).

karēḍu S. Crane. കരേണു S. = കരിണി. കരേറുക = കരയേറുക q. v. ആപത്തു വന്നു തലയില്‍ കരേറിയാല്‍ Mud. VN. കരേറ്റം f. i. ദീനം ക'മായി grows worse. കരേറ്റുക v. a. to raise, ship = കയറ്റുക 2. കരോട്ടു = കരയോട്ടു (കര) Upwards.

(as tribute). കൊട്ടയാടുക to shake as a dry cocoanut (So. to be tormented. കൊട്ടയാട്ടുക to torment B.) 2. (= കൂട) basket, അവര്‍ കൊട്ടയിലും പാള യിലും ആയി children in cradles, etc. kinds: അടിക്കൊട്ട for sweepings, building with mud. കിളി-, ചാലി-, പൂട്ടു- all these of palm leaves, മരക്കൊട്ട bucket in a boat, ചൂരല്‍-, പൂഴി-, വട്ട etc. നെയ്ക, മെട യുക V1. to make baskets. Hence: കൊട്ടക്കോരിക B. bucket. കൊട്ടത്തടം stone floor of a bath, place to hold water, to wash rice, etc. ആട്ടം മുട്ടിയാല്‍ കൊ'ത്തില്‍ prov. കൊ'ത്തില്‍ ഒരു മുല്ലമരം TP. കൊട്ടത്തളം the same. കൊട്ടപ്പാടു 1. a basket fall of earth. 2.
