kūḷam Te. T. So. (കൂള്‍ C. Te. = കീഴ്) Chaff of corn, etc. കൂളന്‍ young, short, stunted (കുള്ളന്‍); a young male buffalo; a locust. കൂളി M. Tu. T. (= കൂട്ടം, കാള) 1. a demon, mischievous spirit, which must be propitiated, ghost (ചൂട്ടക്കൂളി ignis fatuus). കൂട്ടരാ യുള്ളതോ കൂളികള്‍ CG., കാളികൂളികളോടും ഭൂരവര്‍ണ്ണങ്ങളോടും Bhg.; കൂളികള്‍ കാളിയു മായി പോക Bhr. (a curse). 2. a young female buffalo So. (C. ഗ്രളി, sacred bull). 3. diving (= ഊളി from കുളി?) കൂളിയിടുക, പായുക.
