čēγuγa T. M. (a C. കേ to lie) To get upon trees, to roost, also ചേക്കുക, ക്കി V1. VN. ചേകല്‍, ചേയല്‍ a roost. ചേയലിന്നു വ ന്ന കോഴി come to lay eggs; ചേയല്‍മരം (f.i. of peacocks). ചേക്ക T. So. resting place of animals (birds, buffaloes), with ഇരിക്ക, ഏറുക to roost. ചേക്കു 1. roosting & breeding place കാക്കെക്കു ചേക്കിടം കൊടുത്താല്‍ prov. 2. So. gambling; ചേ. കളിക്ക to gamble.

čeṭṭi 5. (Tdbh., ശ്രേഷ്ഠി) 1. čoṇgu 1. (C. സൊ. — = ചൊക്കം) Beauty, elegance. — ചൊങ്കന്‍., ചൊങ്കത്തി f. beautiful (as men, elephants, etc.). 2. (= ചു ങ്ങു) withered; ചൊങ്കുകയ്യന്‍ & ചൊങ്ങയ്യന്‍ V1., ചൊങ്കന്‍ B., who has a withered hand.
