čoṭṭu T.M. 1. A slap on the head ചൊ. കൊണ്ടാലും prov. — met. തലെക്ക ഒരു ചൊ. disappointment; ചൊട്ടുപിണഞ്ഞു, ഒരു ചൊ. കിഴിഞ്ഞു (superst.) a curse, disease, etc. has alighted on him. 2. = പൊട്ടു mark on the forehead with Sandal paste etc. ചൊട്ടുതൊടുക = തൊട്ടുകുറി; kinds ഇരുവയിനാടന്‍ ചൊ. TP. etc. Hence: ചൊട്ടുകത്തി Mpl. = ചൊട്ടവാള്‍. ചൊട്ടുക (C. സൊണ, T. So. to drop, rain) 1. To rap with the knuckles, knock with the finger, chiefly on the head; also ചൊട്ടി നോ ക്ക No. = കൊട്ടിനോക്ക. 2. to be disappointed. വ യറുചൊട്ടിപ്പോയി abortus. കാര്യം ചൊ. proved abortive. തമ്മില്‍ ചൊ. they fell out. CV. ചൊട്ടിക്ക 1. to beat (f.i. in chess). 2. to disappoint; to overreach. ചൊട്ടിപ്പു machinations. = കൃത്രിമം. ചൊട്ടുകാര്യം a poor affair. ചൊട്ടുവെള്ളം So. = കൊട്ടുവെള്ളം q. v.

čurīγarikka S. To steal (ചോരന്‍). ചുരുകു see ചൊരുക.

čuri T. M. 1. Round hole pierced through Olas to thread them V1., So. 2. = ചുരിനാരാ യം the instrument which makes the hole. ചുരിപണയം a pledge, the possession of which is not given to the creditor (see ചൂണ്ടി).

čeδal (see ചിതല്‍ C. Te. ചെദല്‍) White ant. വെഞ്ചെത(ള്‍)ക്കൊള്‍ക of worms engendered in a box.
