(തടവു) what is broad, wide, as garden-bed (ത. കെട്ടിക്ക Arb.), a basin round a tree to hold water (തടം ഇടുക; കൈ പ്പത്തടത്തില്‍, അവരത്തടത്തില്‍ തവള നില്ക്ക ട്ടേ prov.); the lair of wild animals പന്നി തട ത്തുനിന്നിളകി TP. — hence കവിള്‍ത്തടം cheek, കണ്ണിന്‍റെ ത. eye-socket (ക. തടവും വളരെ വീങ്ങി MR.), നെററിത്തടം, തേര്‍ത്തടം = തട്ടു etc. 4. size, circumference കഴുത്തു, കൈ, ൪ വിര ല്ക്കു ത. ചുരുക്കി TP. — തടം പിടിക്ക to measure. Hence: തടങ്കണ്‍ a large eye കരുന്ത., നളിന ത. മന്നന്‍, ത. ഇടപ്പെടത്തുറന്നു നോക്കി RC. stared with wide open eye. തടങ്കൈ RC. a large hand. തടങ്കൊങ്ക full breast, മല്ലത്ത. CG. തടന്തല്ലുക B. to embarrass, perplex (to beat the shore, as waves?). തടന്തിരള്‍തോളന്‍ RC. broad-chested. തടമാട്ടം a cheek. ത'ത്തില്‍ അടയാളം കാട്ടുക to blush (loc.). തടമുല full breast, & തടവന്‍മുല CG. തടവയറന്‍ (see under തട).

tuḷi T. M. (തുളു Tu. C. to tremble) A drop, also തുള്ളി q. v., ചോരത്തുളി Bhg. — (No. toddy drawers say of a cut cocoanut-spadix: തു. എ ടുക്ക toddy begins to flow, തു. തെളിഞ്ഞു flows freely, തു. ആറി has dried up). തുളിക്ക 1. to drop, as medicines ചെവിയില്‍ Tantr. എണ്ണ വെന്തു പുണ്ണില്‍ തു. turakka (T. തുരുവു to bore, Te. ത്രവ്വു Tu. തെര to dig). To burrow, undermine, prob. fr. തുരങ്കം q.v. — മണ്ണിന്‍ ചോടേ തുരന്നു Mud.; തു രന്നു കേറി Arb.; തുരന്നുകളവു MR. burglary. തുരപ്പണം T. tamassụ S. (തമ്) 1. Darkness. നിശി തമസി VetC. a hell. 2. the 3rd quality, delusion നിദ്രയും ആലസ്യവും തന്ദ്രിയും പ്രമാദ വും ഭീതിയും അജ്ഞാനവും ഖിന്നവും വിഷാദവും താമസഗുണം VCh. = തമോഗുണം.

tōyuγa T. M. (T. തുവ, whence തു വെക്ക; C. Tu. തൊയി & തോ moist) To dip, soak, unite. മഞ്ഞള്‍നിറം തോഞ്ഞ കൂറ, ശോ ണിതം തോഞ്ഞ ബാണങ്ങള്‍, ഗണ്ഡത്തില്‍ തോ യുന്ന വന്മദതോയം. met. ശീതം തോഞ്ഞീടുന്നാ തങ്കം CG. സമ്മതം തോയുന്ന നന്മൊഴി Anj. (= ഉള്ള). തോയ്ക്ക T. M. So. (T. തോയ്ക്ക to dip in, bring together, etc) 1. to temper iron = ഊട്ടുക. 2.
