It serves, with Darbha-grass, for the funeral ceremonies of Brahmans. തു. മുതലായ അച്ചനാ പുഷ്പങ്ങള്‍ TR. — തുളസീദളവര്‍ഷവും കാണായി KumK. (from heaven). Kinds: കാട്ടുതു. Ocyraum adscendens, കര്‍പ്പൂര —, കൃഷ്ണ —, വെണ്‍ —, രാമ —, പെരുന്തു. Oc. polystachium, ശിവതു. Oc. tenuiflorum. തുളസീഭൂപന്‍ KM. the Tuḷu Rāja, (see തുളു). തുളസ്സല്‍ No. a kind of rice (middling).

Kinds കോ (ല്‍) ത്തി രി, മുക്കോ (ല്‍) ത്തിരി or മുക്കണ്ണന്‍ തി. for വെ ലി, പടുതിരി = വെറുന്തിരി. tōṇḍγa T. M.C (C. Te. Tu. തോടു) 1. To burrow, scoop out. ചെവി തോ. to remove ear-wax. കിണറു, കുളം തോണ്ടി എടുക്ക to clean out a well. വെള്ളം ആകാഞ്ഞാല്‍ തോ ണ്ടിക്കുടിക്കേണം prov. (No. പാത്രം തോണ്ടു പോയി = തുളഞ്ഞുപോയി see തോട്ട). 2. So. to dig = കിളെക്ക, as പണം തോണ്ടി എടുത്തു Arb. dug out. 3. (Te.) to draw aside, draw near. കൊക്കുകൊണ്ടു മാങ്ങ തോണ്ടിപ്പറിക്ക to pluok. തോണ്ടിക്കളക to remove with a stick (f. i. പാന്പിനെ), തോണ്ടിച്ചാടുക to thrust aside. തോണ്ടി 1. a small earthen vessel for drawing water; also തോണ്ടിപ്പാനി. 2. ചെവിത്തോ ണ്ടി, ചെപ്പിത്തോ. an ear-pick.
