tiraṇḍi (T. തിരുക്ക) A large flat sea-fish, ray or skate, said to wound venomously (chiefly the kind കാക്കത്തിരണ്ടി) with the spikes on the tail, തി. കുത്തിയാല്‍ കായുന്നതി ന്നു, തി. വിഷത്തിന്നു a. med. തി. മുള്ളു etc.; വാന്‍തിരണ്ട RS 13. തിരണ്ടു p.t., see തിരള്‍. തിരപ്പം see under തിര.

taṭṭaγa T. M. C. Te. (=തടുക്ക 1.) 1. v. n. To tap, dash, അസ്ത്രങ്ങള്‍ തങ്ങളില്‍ തട്ടി = ത മ്മില്‍ കൊണ്ടു Bhr. hit, strike against. കഴു ത്തിന്നു നഖം, തോലിന്നു കല്ലു മുള്ളു തീപ്പൊരി തട്ടിക്കണ്ടു MR.
