d/?/ḍham S. (part. of ദര്‍ഹ to fix) Firm, solid. ദൃഢഭക്തി Bhg. — വരും ദൃഢം Bhr. will surely come. ദൃഢത firmness; certainty. ദൃഢീകരിക്ക = ഉറപ്പിക്ക, f. i. ചിത്തേ ദൃ'ച്ചു Bhg. settled in his mind. ഏകൈകബാഹുക്കള്‍ ആലിംഗനത്തിങ്കല്‍ ആകുന്നവണ്ണം ദൃ'ച്ചാര വര്‍ Nal.

dviγam S. (ദ്വി, two). Two-fold = ദ്വയം. ദ്വിഗുണം double, ഒക്കയും ദ്വി'മായ് വന്നു KR. ദ്വിജന്‍ twice-born; an Arya and esp. Brahman. Bhr. ദ്വിജം oviparous, as birds etc.; a tooth. ദ്വിജന്മാവു, Bhg., ദ്വിജാതി VetC. a Brahman. ദ്വിതയം a pair, ബാഹുദ്വിത. KR. ദ്വിതീയ the second lunar day; the 2nd case, Accusative (gram.) ദ്വിത്വം doubling a letter (gram.). ദ്വിധാ in two ways. Bhg. ദ്വിപം (drinking twice), an elephant. ദ്വിപക്ഷം a dilemma, അന്നേരം കുഞ്ഞനെയും കുട്ടിയെയും രക്ഷിപ്പാനും ഢീപ്പുവിനോടു വെ ടിവെപ്പാനും നമുക്കു ദ്വിപക്ഷമായി വരും TR. (Rāja of Koḍagu). ദ്വിപല്‍, ദ്വിപദം, ദ്വിപാദം biped. ദ്വിഭാര്യന്‍ one who has two wives. ദ്വിഭാഷി an interpreter. ദ്വിരദന്‍ bident, an elephant ദ്വിരദവരന്‍ Mud.

daridram S.(ദ്രാ intens. running to & fro) Vagrant; poor, needy. ദരിദ്രരില്‍ ആരേ ധന വാനാക്കേണ്ടു KR. ദരിദ്രത poverty, (ദ.ശമിക്കും SiPu.) & ദാരിദ്രൃം.

drāvaγam S. (ദ്രു) Chasing; (& ദ്രാവണം Mud.) liquifying. — ദ്രാവ്യതാം CV. Imp. (Mud.) ദ്രാവിഡം, see ദ്രവിഡം.

dašam S. (L. decem). Ten. ഒന്നും ദശയു മായി (sic) കോടി Sk. = ഏകാദശകോടി (or ദ ശവും). ദശകന്ധരന്‍ VCh. ten-necked = ദശഗ്രീ വന്‍, ദശമുഖന്‍, ദശവദനന്‍, ദശാസ്യന്‍ AR. Rāvaṇa. ദശമി the tenth lunar day. ദശമൂലം see മൂലം. ദശരഥന്‍ Rāman's father, (king of Ayōdhya). ദശാംശം a tenth, tithe. ദശായിരം Sk. = ദശസഹസ്രം 10,000. ദശാവതാരം the 10 Avatāras.

danu S., N. pr. The mother of the Asuras, who are therefore ദനുജന്മാര്‍ Bhr.

dravam S. (ദ്രു) Running; fluid ദ്രവാദികള്‍ vu.. denV. ദ്രവിക്ക to run out or off. എന്തിനായി ഭവാന്‍ ദ്രവിക്കുന്നു VetC; to be fused f. i. ദ്ര വിച്ചുപോയി exuded, was spoiled; സ്വര്‍ണ്ണം ദ്ര. SiPu. (in conflagration). ശവം ദ്ര. = ചീക. CV. ദ്രവിപ്പിക്ക 1. to melt (സിംഹത്തെ Mud.), to distil. 2. to spoil.
