dhīraǹ S. (ധര്‍) 1. Steady, determined. കുതിരകളുടെ ധീരനാദം Nal. deep, dull sound. 2. (ധീ) clever, wise; അല്പധീരന്‍ Nasr. po. ധീരത firmness, fortitude = ധൈ൪യ്യം.

dhūrtaǹ S. (ധൂര്‍വ്വ, ധ്വര്‍ to bend) A crafty, sly dog; a rogue അക്ഷധൂര്‍ത്തനെ ഭ വാന്‍ ആദരിച്ചീടൊല്ലായേ Nal. ധൂര്‍ത്തത craftiness. ധൂ. കാര്‍ത്തെന്നലോളം മറെറ ങ്ങും കണ്ടില്ല CG. nothing so insinuating. ധൂര്‍ത്തു കാട്ടുക to deceive, insinuate oneself with women — ധൂര്‍ത്തു പറക to exaggerate; to talk cleverly. — എന്നുള്ള ധൂര്‍ത്തു തോന്നി thought of committing a crime.

dhvāṇkšam S. A crow; also വൃദ്ധ ധ്വാംക്ഷകന്‍ PT. ധ്വാനം = ധ്വനി.

dhānyam S. ( ധാന grain). Corn, grain, esp. നെല്ലു; രസധാ. rank corn, നീരസധാ. meagre corn. ധാന്യവ൪ദ്ധനം lending grain for seed at usurious interest. ധാന്യവൃദ്ധി first-fruits, നിറ. ധാന്യസാരം grain after threshing, പൊല്. ധാന്യാമ്ലം sour gruel, വെപ്പുകാടി.

dhēnu S. (ധി to satisfy) A milch-cow, ഹോമധേ. etc.; മേദിനി ധേനുവായിച്ചെന്നു വിരിഞ്ചനോട് ഓതിനാള്‍ CG. ധേനുകാരി K/?/shṇa, as destroyer of a demon ധേനുകന്‍ CG.

dhāršṭyam S. (ധൃഷ്ടം, Tdbh. ധാട്യം) 1.
