naṇṇuγa (T. Tu. to be close, നള്‍= നടു) 1. To remember with love & gratitude നണ്ണിവിശ്വാസമോടേ Anj. — നണ്ണാര്‍. 2. to consider അതു നണ്ണിപ്പൊറുക്കേണം Swarg. Kaly.; വീരത ഇതെന്നു നണ്ണി CG.; എന്നുള്ളില്‍ ന. Bhr. thought; (see നെണ്ണുക).

nambuγa T. aM. C. Tu., (Te. നമ്മു). To confide, desire = നണ്ണുക, അന്പുക? VN. നന്പിക്ക (rare) & അവനന്പിക്ക (T., loc.) distrust. നന്പടി, vu. നന്പിടി, prh. നന്പിയടി? N. pr. a caste of lower Brahmans (മുക്കാല്‍ ബ്രാഹ്മ ണര്‍) & princes; one of them പടിനന്പി ടി=കക്കാട്ടു കാരണപ്പാടു KU.; (see കറുക ന., വേങ്ങനാട്ടു ന.). നന്പഷ്ഠാതിരി a Kshatriya woman. So. നന്പി (prh. fr. നം, as T. എന്പി, തന്പി etc.) 1. T. Te. C. Vaišṇava priests. 2. naččam (നച്ചു C. Te. T. to aim at, desire; see നഞ്ചു) & നച്ചക്കുഴല്‍, നച്ചക്കോല്‍ (ഊതിപ്പിടിക്ക) A tube to shoot birds or fishes with clay pellets, arrows, etc. (T. നച്ചുക്കോല്‍). നച്ചത്തിങ്കായി a kind of vegetable poison for fish, (നഞ്ചു) Rh. നച്ചു (T. poisonous, fr. നഞ്ചു) poison — നച്ചെ ണ്ണ Pay; met. നച്ചായിനാന്‍ അരികുലത്തി ന്നു RC. നച്ചെലി So. (=നക്തം) Night, see നിശി; chiefly in Cpds., f.i. അഹര്‍ന്നിശകളും KR. നിശാകരന്‍ S. night-maker, the moon; also നി ശാപതി, നാശാമണി; നിശാനാഥവംശത്തി ന്നീശന്‍) ChVr. നിശാചരന്‍ (f. — രി) night-walker, a Rākshas AR. nokkuγa So. (C. Te. to indent, see ഞെങ്ങുക). 1. v. n. To pass through നൊ ത്തുകടക്ക = നുഴ. 2. v. a. to pierce, bore through V1. ഞൊക്ക. നൊങ്ങണം & നുങ്ങണന്പുല്‍ Hedyotis Heynei, a medic. grass, used in midwifery. നു. ഇടിച്ചു പിഴിഞ്ഞ നീര്‍ a. med. (= മണിത്തുന്പ); also നൊങ്ങണപ്പുല്‍, (prh. കണ & നുണ്‍). — ചെറുഞൊങ്ങണംപുല്ലു Rh. Mollugo parviflora.

nir̀ukka T. aM. To weigh, whence നിറ 2., (V1. നിര്‍ക്ക). തൂക്കി നിറുത്തു തരീന്‍ Arb. (or നിറുത്തി?) നിറുത്തുക (നിര്‍ത്തുക v. a. of നില്ക്ക) T. M. 1. To make to stand. കൊടിമരം നി. to erect. കുഞ്ഞനും കുട്ടിയെ നിറുത്തി രക്ഷിക്ക TR. make it possible for our families to remain, preserve. എല്ലാവരേടും വെച്ചു രക്ഷിച്ചു പൊറുതി യായിട്ടുള്ള പ്രകാരം നിലനൃത്തി TR. settled the country. ഈ മരം നിറുത്തരുതു don't let it stand. ജന്മീഭോഗം അധികം നൃത്തീടിനാല്‍ VyM. let it stand on. 2. to stop, തേരിനെ ക്ഷണം നിറുത്തെന്നു KR; ചോര നിര്‍ത്തുക MM. (of a wound). തപസ്സിനി നി. nayikka S. 1. (നീ) To lead ൦രംശ്വ രന്‍ ലോകത്തെ നയിക്കുന്നു Bhg.; സീതയേ നയി പ്പതിന്നോടി KR.; കുമാരഷള്‍ക്കം സ്വപദംനയി ച്ചാന്‍ CC. brought them to his place. 2. Tdbh. നശിക്ക to labour hard, നയിക്കാന്‍ പോയി vu. = പണിക്കു പോയി. VN. നയിപ്പു = നശിപ്പു q. v. — നല്ല നായിപ്പുകാ രന്‍ a good workman. No. vu.

naišam S. (നിശ). Nocturnal നൈ ശമായുള്ളൊരു ഭോജനം CG.; നൈശമാമശനം കഴിച്ചു Brhmd.

n/?/ṇṇana No. (adv. നിവിര്‍). Upright, erect. നൃ.നില്ക്ക to stare about, be stark naked (loc.) നൃച്ചി (loc.) uppermost.

nyāsam S. (see ന്യസിക്ക) 1. Putting down. പദന്യാ. കൊണ്ടു പവിത്രമാകും KR. by stepping on. 2. abandonment. 3. a deposit. 4. അംഗന്യാ., കരന്യാ., മന്ത്രന്യാ. placing body, hand, formulas; said of ceremonies, esp. in Sakti worship. അംഗന്യാസങ്ങള്‍ ചെയ്തു Bhg., മന്ത്രന്യാ. SiPu., കരന്യാ. = തള്ളവിരല്‍കൊ ണ്ടു കുന്പിടുക.
