T. M. Te. (fr. പെയര്‍ see പേര്‍പ്പു). 1. A name, as it were the duplicate of a person or thing. ഇല്ലപ്പേര്‍, വീട്ടുപേര്‍ the family name. പേര്‍ ഇടുക to name (= വിളിക്ക, കെട്ടുക). തക്ഷ കന്‍ എന്ന പേരിട്ടു കൊണ്ടു Bhr. പൈതങ്ങള്‍ രണ്ടിന്നും പേരിട്ടുകൊള്ളേണം CG. ഗോക്കളെ പേര്‍ ചൊല്ലി നീള വിളിക്കയും CG. കണിശന്‍ ഇനിക്കു മുന്പേ പേര്‍ വിളിച്ചു prov. (why call my name so often). പേരുമാത്രവും കിട്ടാ & പേര ്‍മാത്രം ശേഷിക്കും PT. will utterly perish. എന്നു പേര്‍ പൊങ്ങും Bhg. called. 2. a person, individual നാലു പേര്‍ = നാല്വര്‍; രണ്ടു പേര ്‍കളും ഉടുത്തു Nal. ഏഴു പേരുടെ നാമങ്ങള്‍ Bhr. വധിക്കേണ്ടും പേരില്‍ ആര്‍ KR. who belongs to the വദ്ധ്യന്മാര്‍? എയ്യുന്ന പേരുകള്‍ Bhr.; എ പ്പേരീം (often written എപ്പ്യേരും) all, any persons or things എപ്യേരുമേ Nal. 3. notoriety, fame പേരും പെരിപ്പവും Bhr. etc. പേര്‍ പെററ, കൊണ്ട, ഉള്ള famous. പേ. നടക്കേണം ലോകങ്ങളില്‍ Sk. പേ. കെട്ടു പോയി No. loss of credit. പെരാക 1. to be something, have a title ഒരു ഉദ്യോഗം ചേയ്തിട്ടു പേരാകേണം (or എടു ക്കേണം). 2. to be notorious എന്നു പേരും ആകും TP. it will be said. ഏലം നുറു തുലാം

parvam S. (പരുസ്സ്). 1. Knot, joint as of bamboos, limbs, etc. 2. division of time, period (esp. വാവു) season, festival. 3. comm. പരുവം the different stages of development esp. in the growth of certain plants (see തെ ങ്ങു, നെല്ലു), or the degree of ripeness in fruits (see തേങ്ങ, ചക്ക, അടക്ക). 4. a chapter, of which Bhr. has 18, hence പ. വായിക്ക to read the Bhr.; also a song in general ദുഷിപ. Nasr.; പ'ങ്ങളും കാണ്ഡങ്ങളും Bhr. & Ram. പരുവമാക T. So. (2) to be ripe, mature, opportune. ചൂടിന്നു പ. വരുത്തി moderated. ന്തുല്‍ പ'മാക്കി Trav. prepared. പ൪വ്വകാലം S. change of the moon നാളേ പ. വരുന്നു ഭ്രദേവന്മ൪ക്കന്നം നല്ക PT., also പ ൪വ്വസന്ധി.

pāṇḍ/?/ityam S. (പണ്ഡിത) Learning പാ.ഏറേയുളള നാരദന്‍ Bhr. ഇജ്ജനത്തി ന്നു ചെററും പാ. ഇല്ല KeiN; പറവാന്‍ പാ. ഇല്ല Bhr. cleverness.

peruγuγa (പെരു). T. M. v. n. To grow large, be multiplied ഇണ്ടല്‍ പെരുകീ ടുന്നു വ്യാധി കൊണ്ടു Anj. കുടി പെരുകുവിന്‍ Genov. — (Inf. പെരിക q. v.) VN. piδuṇṇuγa T. M. (C. hodaku). 1. So. To be squeezed, pressed out. 2. No. children to make wry faces, begin to cry. പിതുക്കുക T. M. Te. C. to crush തവളയെ ചവി ട്ടി പിതുക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു No.; to press the matter out of a boil (= പിളുക്കുക).

piččam (S. പിഛ്ശം tail-feather) in പി. കെട്ടുക To catch a tail, fetch a reason from afar, break the ice.

pušyam S. (cream fr. പുഷ് as of Amrita, Ved.) = പൂയം f. i. നാള ഉരു പുഷ്യം KR. പുഷ്യ നക്ഷത്രം AR. പുഷ്യരാഗം, see പുഷ്പരാഗം.

= പകുക്കു To divide. കെരന്തം (= ഗ്ര ന്ഥം) പഴുത്തു നോക്കുന്നേരം TP. to open a book indifferently in order to find an oracle (in the 7th letter of the 7th line). പഴുതി MR. = പകുതി.
