pāṇḍi T. M. 1. (see prec). H. paṭālan, A battalion, regiment, army — പട്ടാളക്കാര്‍ etc. പട്ടാളിച്ചുപോക No. (പട്ട) = പോളിച്ചുപോക paddy, greens, etc. over-grown on account of too much shadow or manure, having leaves only but no fruit, (comp. പട്ടെക്ക).
