maitram S. (മിത്ര). Friendship മൈ. മറന്നു RS.; also മൈത്യ്രം. മൈത്രി id. ഭൂസരന്‍റെയും മൈഥിലന് തന്‍റെ യും മൈ. യെ പൂരിപ്പാന്‍ CG. മൈ. രക്ഷി പ്പാന്‍ പണി KR. മൈത്രീകരം S. gaining friends AR. (the Rāmāyaṇa is said to be such).

mina (= വിന). 1. Work. 2. evil work = തീവിന, as മിനെക്കു പുറപ്പെടുക to attempt some evil. മിന കാണിക്ക to show a bad disposition. മിനക്കെടുക 1. to idle away time. 2. to have leisure for nothing besides. നിത്യം ഈവ ണ്ണം മി'ട്ടിരുന്നു Bhg. behaved always thus. എന്തിന്നു മി'ട്ടു ഈ കാര്യം പറയുന്നു continually. ഇത്രനാളും മി'ട്ടു പഠിച്ചു Bhg. uninterruptedly. VN. മിനക്കേടു being unoccupied; time & labor spent to no purpose. മിനക്കെടുക്ക to cumber, interrupt work; make idle.

mar̀a 5. (മറു), 1. A screen, shelter, covering സ്ത്രീകള്‍ക്കു മാറില്‍ മറ ഇല്ല Anach. കിണററി ന്ന് ആള്‍മറ കെട്ടുക MR. a wall of wells etc. മറ പററുക, പെടുക V1. to hide oneself. മറ യത്ത് ആട്ടുക to drive away. മറയത്തു പോക to be buried. ഏറത്തിളക്കിലോ പോകേണം മറ യത്തു Bhr. ശവം മറ ചെയ്ക to bury. മറെക്കു പോക, മറെക്കിരിക്ക to ease nature. ഓളെ മറയില്‍ ഇരുത്തിച്ചോന്‍ TP. made the widow to live in retirement. 2. a secret, രണ്ടും മറ കൂടാതേ പറഞ്ഞു ChVr. openly. 3. N. pr. the residence of a Tīyar baron മന്ദനാര്‍, q.v. മനക്കോട്ടു കുഞ്ഞിരാമന്‍ N. pr. of a chieftain SiPu., UmV. മനനാടു KU. a name of Kēraḷam. മനയന്‍ N. pr. a caste കൊല്ലന്‍ മ. പെരിങ്കൊ ല്ലന്‍ huntg. (see മനയാളി). മനയമ്മ the wife of മൂസ്സത്; housewife in Shaiva parlance. മനയാട്ടി, മനയാള്‍ aM. housewife. മനയാളി 1. N. pr. of a caste, ഊരാളി, see മ ണിയാണി. 2. = മലയാളി. മനസ്ഥാനത്തു നായര്‍ N. pr. a fief under Calicut. KU.

mānavaǹ S. (മനു). Man, opp. വാ നവന്‍ God CG. — മാനവവീരന്‍ Mud. a king. മാനവപ്രവരനായ്വന്നവതരിച്ചീടും AR. Višṇu. മാനവം S. derived from Manu, as മാ'ധര്‍മ്മം. മാനവി S. a woman.

mōṇṇụ Kaḍ. (So. മാര്‍ങ്ങ). Plantain-suckers when very small (see കന്നു 2, 203). (നേന്ത്രമോങ്ങ് are not transplanted but boiled & eaten).
