maṇi S. (fr. മണല്‍?, മണ്‍). 1. mākallụ T. So. (മാവു flour). Slate-stone; soap-stone used for making vessels (ച ട്ടി 342), by Kaṇišas for കളം വരെക്ക = No. വെണ്ണക്കല്ലു. — hence perhaps: മാക്കത്തിറ a ceremony after കുട്ടിയൂണ്‍; കുട്ടി ക്കു മാ. കഴിക്ക (T. മാക്കള്‍ men? or മാക്കാന്‍).

mu/?/uγuγa T. M. (Tu. murungu, C. muḷu, C. Te. muṇugu = മുങ്ങു). To sink under water ഉലകിടം ആഴവേ മുഴുകും Bhg. തോണി മുഴുകി പ്പതിച്ചു Si Pu.; to dive, be immersed. സീത അ ഗ്നിയില്‍ മുഴുകി UR. (an ordeal); fig. ചോര യാല്‍ Brhmd. to bleed all over. കടത്തില്‍, പര മാനനന്ദത്തില്‍ KR. ഭക്തിയില്‍ മു. GnP. അതി ങ്കല്‍ മു. യില്ല won't plunge into it, hesitates. CV. മുഴുകിക്ക = മുങ്ങിക്ക, മുക്കുക to bathe a child, plunge or immerse. Bhg.

mu/?/a (T. C. മുള cone of a boil). 1. Protuberance. ആനയുടെ മു. two projections on the elephant's forehead. കുന്നും മലയും കുഴിയും മുഴ കളും ഒന്നു പോലേ നിരത്തി Bhg. elevation; unevenness. 2. tumour, excrescence ഞെളിഞ്ഞ മാറത്തു വളര്‍ന്ന വന്മുഴ KR. rupture, chancre. തൊണ്ടയിലേ മു. goitre V2. ചന്ദനം മുഴയില്‍ തേപ്പിച്ചു KR. മുഴ മേല്‍ തടകുക എന്നാല്‍ മു. ചാ ഞ്ഞുപോം MM. മു. പെളിയും a. med 3. rough, knotty, the teeth of a saw etc. V1. മുഴന്തു B. a knot, protuberance on a tree. മുഴമരം a turner's lathe, a piece in a loom etc.V1. മുഴയന്‍ having a tumour or lump. മുഴവടിയും (=കോടി) കഴുവടിയും (കുഴിയ —) hip-rafters & valleys, Palg. മുഴെന knotty (wood), headstrong (man), Vl. മുഴെക്ക to swell as tumour, rise in a wen വെ ളുന്നനേ മുഴെച്ചീടും Nid. (in the eye). — met. കിള മുഴച്ചേടം വാര്‍ന്നു കളക No. to cut off the bulging part of a mud-wall.
