mēttaǹ B. A class of Muhammedans. മേത്തല്‍ (loc.) = മീത്തല്‍, also കുടയുടെ മേത്തു ചോരയുള്ളതു നോക്കി jud. Mpl. — മേത്തോട്ടു upwards. (മേല്‍): മേത്തട്ടു ceiling, upper story. മേത്തരം the best sort, superior നീതിക്കെല്ലാം മേററരമാനനിശാചരന്‍ RC. മേത്തലവായു Palg. sore eyes with head-ache (corr. fr. നേത്രവായു). മേത്താവി Tdbh. = മേധാവി. മേത്തോന്നി Gloriosa or Methonica superba, with poisonous root used by women (മേ' യും കിണറും ഉണ്ടു) for suicide. മേത്രാന്‍, see മെത്രാന്‍.

mayyal T. M. 1. = മയക്കം, മയല്‍. Perturbation; grief എനിക്കു മൈയല്‍ അകമേനി റെന്തു RC. പൂണ്ടാശു മയങ്ങിനാന്‍ ഏററവും Bhg. fainted. മ. തീര്‍ന്നുണര്‍ന്തു RC. from swoon. മ. കൊണ്ടു മാഴ്കും Nal. māvaǹ N. pr. (C. = മാമന്‍). A deity of Nāyars; a Māya.

mēḍikka = വേണ്ടിക്ക 1. To ask അംഗു ലീയം അവനോടു മേടിച്ചു സൂക്ഷിച്ചു Mud. കടം മേ. to borrow. 2. to take, buy, receive.
