maḍava (T. മടവി fr. മടം 3. മടന്ത). A grown woman, say of 25 years മടവയിക്കു മു ന്പില്‍ RC. before Sīta; pl. മടവയരുടെ നടു വില്‍, മടവയര്‍കുലം, മ'രുടെ മണി KR. മറി വു മുഴുത്തുള്ള മടവാര്‍ VilvP. മടവാരെ അടക്കു വാന്‍ CG. മടവാര്‍പിള്ള മറുകരെക്കയക്ക വേ ണം Mpl. song . = women & children. മടവി a servant girl (= ഇരിക്കുന്നവള്‍), മ. ച മഞ്ഞാല്‍ വീട്ടിലേ അമ്മയാമോ Anj. മടവാള്‍ B. Tirtāla (contr. മടാള്‍), മടാക്കത്തി Weṭṭ. a hatchet, small axe.

maṭṭiyam (T. a musical measure). Fiattery, obtaining consent by ruse. മട്ടിയക്കാരന്‍ an irresistible flatterer; a trickster.

mī (& മികു, മിചു, mid etc.) 5. To be high, above, see മീതു. മീച്ചം B. ability, strength; (മീര്‍ച്ച V1. valor). മീടു No. (T. മുകടു top) the face മീടു താറിയതു TP. തന്‍റെ മീടാകാഞ്ഞിട്ട് ആരാന്‍റെ ക ണ്ണാടി പൊളിക്ക, കണ്ണും മീടും (fig. 473 1. 2 a.) prov. മീടിട്ടു കുടിക്ക to sip like animals.

maḍambụ M. (aC. Te. maḍame, see മ ടക്കു 2.). 1. The heel മടന്പൂന്നിപ്പണിപ്പെട്ടു ന ടപ്പാറുണ്ടു med. walking on the heels. 2. blunt edge, the back of a knife (= മാടു). മടന്പിരിന്പു the metal heel of a musket. മടന്പില്ലാതോര ന്പു Bhg.

A germ, shoot, young plant മുള ആകുന്പോള്‍ നഖം കൊണ്ടു നുള്ളാം, മുളയില്‍ അറിയാം വിള prov. ബീജം മുളയാ യിലയായി Bhg. 2. a bamboo, also മുളക്കാ യല്‍, the cane മുള വെച്ചതു bamboo grown to the thicknoss of an arm. മുള കട്ടപ്പെട്ടുപോക No. (പൂത്തുപോയി Trav.) = പരുവ 626. Kinds: പു ല്ലു — common bamboo, കരിങ്കണ massive b. 3. chilblains, external piles; polypus കണ്ണില്‍ മുള പുറപ്പെട്ടാല്‍, മൂക്കില്‍നിന്നു മു. ഉരുകിപ്പോ കും a. med. 4. a peg, stake, പുരമുളകൊത്തി വലിക്ക TP. the roof; money stamp T. So. മുളകെട്ടുക to put moistened seeds to germinate. മുളങ്കന്പു, — ങ്കാന്പു a bamboo-shoot. മുളങ്കിളി MC. a kind of parrot. മുളങ്കൂട്ടം MR. = ഇല്ലിക്കൂട്ടം, മുളക്കൂ. കൊത്തി മ റിക്ക etc. മുളനാഴി a rice-measure മു.ക്കു മുറിച്ച പന്തിയില്‍ prov. മുളനെല്ലു bamboo-seed & മുളയരി. മുളന്ദണ്ഡം the bamboo-staff of a mendicant. മുളപ്പൂമരുതു Shorea robusta, S. സര്‍ജ്ജം. മുളയന്‍ So. son of Pulaya; a Pulaya tribe. മുളയാര്‍ V1. a bamboo-chip, മുളയലക. മുളയിടുക to moisten paddy etc. to germinnte. മുളയേണി No. a bamboo with its branches cut short (കന്പു), serving as ladder. മുളവിത്തു sowing seed already germinating. mu/?/uγuγa T. M. (Tu. murungu, C. muḷu, C. Te. muṇugu = മുങ്ങു). To sink under water ഉലകിടം ആഴവേ മുഴുകും Bhg. തോണി മുഴുകി പ്പതിച്ചു Si Pu.; to dive, be immersed. സീത അ ഗ്നിയില്‍ മുഴുകി UR. (an ordeal); fig. ചോര യാല്‍ Brhmd. to bleed all over. കടത്തില്‍, പര മാനനന്ദത്തില്‍ KR. ഭക്തിയില്‍ മു. GnP. അതി ങ്കല്‍ മു. യില്ല won't plunge into it, hesitates. CV. മുഴുകിക്ക = മുങ്ങിക്ക, മുക്കുക to bathe a child, plunge or immerse. Bhg.
