var̀u T. M. (C. Tu. bari, Te. bare = വെറു). Empty, poor, dry. വറുക്കുഴന്പു decoction from parched medicines (opp. പുഴുക്കു). വറുപൊരി യെള്‍ Pay., see foll. വറുക്ക T. M. To fry, grill, parch കാകോ ളമാം തീയിലിട്ടു വറുത്തു കറുത്തു ഞാന്‍ Nal. നെ ല്‍വ. to parch rice in order to free it from husk (worse method than പുഴങ്ങുക). വറുത്ത രി Anj. വറുത്തെള്ളും Mud. (offered to a parrot). നെയ്യില്‍ വ'ത്തു ചുക്കാന്പോള്‍ a. med. വറുത്തി ടുക (& വ. ചേര്‍ക്ക) to season with spices (vu. വറ —). വ'ത്തിട്ടിട്ട് ഉടലും പോഷിപ്പിക്കും Bhg. veṭṭi (fr. foll.). 1. A tree of worthless timber, വെട്ടിവേര്‍ V1. a sweet-smelling root. വെട്ടിക്കരി ഏറവന്‍, ഉള്ളവന്‍ an incorrigible rogue. — Kinds: കരിവെ. Olea dioica, പേ — Physalis flexuosa. 2. B. worthless (deserving to be cut down?). വെട്ടിപ്പണി, — വേല or വെട്ടിക്കുചെയ്ക Trav. Palg. = ഉപകാരം ഇല്ലാ ത്തതു. വെട്ടിത്താളി 1. leaves of prec. 1., used to remove the oil after bathing. 2.
