čakkụ (Tdbh.; ചക്രം) 1. Oilpress, (ചക്കു കണ the roller of it, ചക്കുകൊക്കു a wood on the top of the pestle, ചക്കുരല്‍ the mortar); sugar-mill etc. ചക്കിന്‍റെ മുരട്ടു കുട്ടന്‍റെ ചേല്‍ prov. ചക്കിലിട്ടമര്‍ത്തീടും എള്ളുപോലെ Brhmd. ചക്കില കപ്പെട്ടൊരിക്ഷു പോലെ ഞെരിക്ക CG. Kinds: നാട്ടുചക്കു, കൊങ്ങന്‍ചക്കു MR. 2. measure of oil-fruits ഒരു ചക്ക് എള്ളു etc. Hence: ചക്കാട്ടുക to work an oilpress. VN. ചക്കാട്ടു — ട്ടം the pressing of oil, etc. ചക്കാന്‍ m.— ാത്തി f. oilpresser, So. ചക്കാല the shed of an oilpress. ചക്കാലവാണി യന്‍& ചക്കോന്‍ KN. the caste of oil-makers, also ചക്കുകാരന്‍ MR. ചക്കില്ലാത്ത വാണി യന്‍ KN. an oil-seller. ചക്കുതോക്കു a mortar TR.— ചക്കുണ്ട a bomb, hence: ചക്കുവെടി bombarding. ചക്കുപാര an instrument for taking oilcake out of the press. ചക്കുപുര = ചക്കാല, also ചക്കിനമൂടു.

muraḍụ (T. C. Te. Tu. knotty, knobby). l. The stump, root, foot of a tree കാരമുരട്ടു ചീര മുളെക്കയില്ല, കൊന്പു തോറും നനെക്കേണ്ട മുര ട്ടു നനച്ചാല്‍ മതി prov. തൈയിന്‍റെ മുരട്ടു കു ഴിച്ചു MR. — മു.൦ നടുവും തലയും വെവ്വേറെ ചു ററിയളക്ക CS. (timber). മുരട്ടുവണ്ണം opp. തല വണ്ണം TR. — മുരടററു വീഴും Brhmd. 2. the foot (= അടി, ചുവടു). ചക്കിന്‍റെ മുരട്ടേ കുട്ടന്‍റെ ചേല്‍ prov. കെട്ടുകുററി മുരട്ടു or മുരട്ടില്‍ No. (of a peg to tie cattle to). ഇരുവിരല്‍ കാല്‍ മു. a. med. അവന്‍ തൃക്കാല്‍ മുരട്ടു വന്നു വര്‍ത്ത മാനം ഉണര്‍ത്തിക്കും TR. മുരടന്‍ 1. knotty. ചെവി മു.
