čuruṭṭu T. M. (C. Te. H. ചുട്ടി, fr. ചു രുള്‍തു) 1. A roll; as of tobacco, 'cheroot.' 2. a sheaf എണ്ണച്ചു. sheaves given to temples in lieu of payment. — (1 ചുരുട്ടു = 3 കൈപ്പിടി). ചുരുട്ടത്തല So. curled hair. ചുരുട്ടപ്പാന്പു a small venomous snake coiled up in dry spray (= ചേരട്ട). ചുരുട്ടപ്പം biscuit. ചുരുട്ടുക v. a. to roll up; മുഷ്ടി ചു. Bhr. balled the fist; വെററില ചു'ട്ടി കൊടുത്തു TP. handed betel. ചുരുണ T. So. Palg. a roll of thread, coil of rope, bundle = കൈപ്പിടിച്ചൂടി —

čuruḷ T. M. (C. Te. Tu. സു —) 1. Scroll, roll. 2. a rolled up Ola. 3. convoluted betel-leaves, ചുരുളും കിഴിയും presents to Brahmans. 4. a roll of cloth (കച്ച) etc. മൊത്തെങ്ങന്‍ ചുരുള്‍ക്കു രുന്നു MM. ചുരുള No. as above. ചുരുളുക n. v. 1. to be rolled up. പിടിച്ചുതുണ്ട കൈ V2. fist. 2. to be curled നീണ്ടുതണ്ട ഗ്രം ചുരുണ്ട തലമുടി SiPu. നീണ്ടിരുണ്ടഗ്രം ചുരുണ്ട കേശം VetC. — a. v. ചുരുട്ടുക q. v. ചുരെക്ക see ചിരെക്ക (S. ക്ഷുര്‍).

tumbi T. M. C. Tu. (Te. തുമ്മദ). A black beetle, flying at night. പൊന്നാന്തു. a cushlady. ആനത്തുന്പി loc. a large kind of dragon-fly. തു. പറക്കുംപ്രകാരം Bhr.; (a butter-fly MC.); തു. തുളെച്ച മുള a bamboo pierced by it & sounding like an Ӕolian harp, (തു. ത്തുള). Hence: തുന്പിക്കൈ T. M. C. (po. തുന്പിക്കരം ത ന്നേ തലോടി CG.) an elephant's trunk, lit. 'the sneezing hand'. തു. യോടുളവായ പൈതല്‍ Anj. Gaṇapati. തു. ചുരുട്ടും MC. (in running). തുന്പിത്താന്‍ V1. 2. & തുന്പിത്താരം B. a long trumpet, (see താര) = ൦രംററക്കുഴല്‍. തുന്പിപ്പച്ച a kind of Centaurium, which produces sneezing.

vadhu, (S. വധൂ fr. വഹ്). A wife, woman സ്വര്‍വധൂവൃന്ദങ്ങള്‍ Nal. വധൂചിത്താനുവര്‍ത്ത കന്‍ an obedient husband. വധൂടി S. a son's wife, a young woman വീടി ക ചുരുട്ടും വ. മാര്‍ KR.

M. (T. Te. Tu. C. = വല്‍). 1. An effort, pull, dragging പിടിയും വ. യുമായി TR. Esp. of shooting അന്പു തൊടുത്തു വ. കഴിച്ചയച്ചു, അ ന്പു വലിച്ചു വ. ഏററി ബാലിവായിലാക്കായുടന്‍ വ. കൈവിട്ടു KR.; rowing etc.; a draught കള്‍. 2. spasm സര്‍വ്വാംഗം വ. യും പിടലിക്കു നോവും a. med. throe, panting. 3. mod. a train വലി കള്‍ എത്തുകയും പുറപ്പെടുകയും. വലിക്ക 1. To draw, drag, (ഇഴെച്ചു വ.), മരം വ. (elephants), തട കെട്ടി വ. to harrow. (loc.) അകത്തോടു വ. (shutting a door). പുരവ'പ്പാന്‍ പറഞ്ഞാല്‍ ഇറയേ വ'ാവു prov. pull down. അടിച്ചു നിന്‍റെ തോലും വലിച്ചു കളയുന്നു നോ ക്കു (says a schoolmaster). തേങ്ങാവ. No. (മാ ങ്ങ Palg.) to pluck. ശക്തി നന്നായ്വലിച്ചെറി ഞ്ഞു Sk. flung; also to shoot ഫാലത്തു നേരേ വ'ച്ചയച്ചു, with double Acc. ബാണസഹസ്ര ത്തെ നന്നായി വ'ച്ചയച്ചീടിനാന്‍ ദേവനെ Sk. വ'ച്ചു കൂരന്പെയ്തു Bhr. — വലിച്ചുവിഴുങ്ങുക to absorb, swallow. ചുങ്ക, ചുരുട്ടു etc. വ. to smoke. വ'ച്ചു കൂകിയാല്‍ കേള്‍ക്കും jud. aloud. — In writing: ചുറെച്ചു (ീ), കുനിച്ചു (ദ്രാസ ള; കനി ക്ക 263), മേല്പെട്ടു (/?/) വലിക്ക. 2. to row (തണ്ടു) വലി Imp. 3. v. n. to have spasms, throes അങ്ങും ഇങ്ങും വ'ക്കും MM. (in a wound). ചെന്നി വ. a. med.
