VN. അരിപ്പു 1. sifting, straining അ. കയില്‍ straining spoon. അ. തുണി or അ. പാത്രം sieve. 2. esp. gold wash (പൊന്നരിപ്പു) ആ മലയില്‍ പൊന്നരിപ്പുണ്ടു, അരിപ്പുപാത്തി ദ്ര, പാത്തി ഒന്നിനു തിങ്ങള്‍ ഒന്നിന്നു വരവു അരിപ്പു പൊന്‍പണത്തൂക്കം വവ്യ (rev.) 3. American wild sage, Lantana aculeata. 4. the webbed husk at the foot of a palm branch. (& അരുപ്പാര).

ińǰa SoM. = ംരംങ്ങ, അത്ത്, Acacia Intsia (√ ഇഞ്ചു T. ഇങ്കു C. Te. be soaked, dry up) — ഇഞ്ചക്കുരുന്നു GP 65. ഇഞ്ചി T. M. green ginger. Amomum Zingiber (S. ചിഞ്ചാടം ? Zingiber = ചിഞ്ചിവേര്‍) — പച്ചിഞ്ചി, ഉണക്കിഞ്ചി or ചുക്കു. ഇഞ്ചി ത്തൊലി a med. — ഇഞ്ചിച്ചാറ് the juice of ginger. — ഇഞ്ചിതിന്നവന്‍ very angry, silly. — (kinds: കാട്ടിഞ്ചി Zing. Zerumbet, മലയിഞ്ചി Alpinia Alleghas).

ēlam 5. S. Cardamoms ആ മലയില്‍ വിളയുന്ന ഏ. തുലാം ഒന്നു (rev.) ചുരത്തിന്മീ ത്തല്‍ ഏലമലെക്കു പോയി കന്നിയും മകരവും ഉള്ള ഏ. താഴ്ത്തുക TP. ചിറ്റേലം a med. ഏലച്ചരക്കു the produce മലകളില്‍നിന്നു കിട്ടുന്ന ഏ. TR. ഏലച്ചുരം കിഴിച്ചു TR. = ഏലമല. ഏലത്തരി Card. seed (hence the name Elettaria). ഏലപ്പിട്ടല്‍, — പ്പുട്ടില്‍ Card. pods. ഏലവാലു S. bark of Ferouia, med. ഏലാപത്രം a Nāga ഏ. തൊഴുതു Bhr. II.

kańńi (C. Te. Tu. Dakh. ganǰi) 1. Canji, rice-gruel. ക. കടുമയില്‍ ആകും TP. — ക. വെ ക്ക to prepare it, ക. കുടിക്ക to breakfast, ക'യും ചോറും പറന്പത്തുന്നു TP. his meals, ക. കഴി ഞ്ഞു having eaten, കഞ്ഞിക്ക് ഇല്ലാതെ പട്ടിണി കിടക്കുന്നു TR. are starving. — വാര്‍ത്ത കഞ്ഞി, കായക്ക., കഷായക്ക. GP. പഴങ്ക., തവിട്ട് ക. etc. V1. കാടിക്കഞ്ഞി or പീരക്ക. half fermented rice-water, food in scarcity. 2. starch. ക. ഇട്ടവസത്രം, ക. പിഴിയുക etc. Hence: കഞ്ഞാററി a sort of brass dish on which Māppiḷḷas put their plates. കഞ്ഞിക്കലം 1. pot to keep canji. 2. a girl at her first menstruation (കന്യ?); ക. ഇരിക്ക to serve her during that time. കഞ്ഞിക്കൂര്‍ക്കില്‍ sage, Salvia. കഞ്ഞിപ്പശ glue from starch. കഞ്ഞിപ്പോത്തു polype (of gelatine consistency) or കാഞ്ഞു q. v. കഞ്ഞിമുട്ട (and കന്നിമുട്ടു) a Scitamineum, sort of മലയിഞ്ചി. കഞ്ഞിവെള്ളം കൊടുക്ക TR. to give food.

čāl T.M.Te. (C. സാലു line, ജാലു C. Te. to flow gently) 1. A furrow കൊഴുകൊണ്ടു കീ റിന ചാലിന്‍ പേര്‍ സീത KR.— ചാലിടുക to plough, സ്ഥലം ഉഴുതു ചാലാക്കി MR.; ചാല്‍ വിത്തു വിതെക്ക to follow the plough sowing. 2. a channel, ചാല്പുറം, ചാല്വഴി of running water; for irrigation നീര്‍ച്ചാ.,ആണിചാ.; also a dry trench or drain, മരങ്ങള്‍ മലയില്‍നിന്നു ചാല്പണി ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടുപോരും MC. track for timber; താണ ചാല്‍ നോക്കി (huntg.) track. 3. line, direction അച്ചാലൂടെ പോയി, ഇച്ചാ ലൊടിയെ; കുട്ടിയെ എഴുത്തുപള്ളി മുഴുവനും രണ്ടു മൂന്നു ചാല്‍ ഇഴെച്ചു. 4. time രണ്ടു ചാല്‍ (ഉഴുക) twice; രണ്ടു മൂന്നു ചാല്‍ അരെക്ക. ചാലുക (loc.) = നാലാം ചാല്‍ ഉഴുക the last ploughing.

C. M. (പെറുക്കുക II.). A load, esp. bullock-load പേറെടുക്കുന്ന എരുതു, കെട്ടും പേ റും കൊണ്ടു പോകരുതു TR. കുടകുമലയിന്നു പേ. കിഴിഞ്ഞു prov. വണ്ടിവഴിയില്ല തലപ്പേ റായികൊണ്ടു പോകേണം head-load. പേരുകാരന്‍ f. i. possessor of a bullock with two water-bags. പേറുക C. M. Tu. (Te. per̀uku) to load as oxen, pile up; കെട്ടിപ്പേറി നടക്ക, പേറിക്കൊള്‍്ക to bear heavy burdens. അര്‍ത്ഥാ കെട്ടിപ്പേറി Nal. തൂറിയോനേ പേറിയാല്‍ പേറിയോനേ യും നാറും prov. കളരി അടിച്ചു വാരി പൂവും പേറി വിരിക്ക TP. പേറുമാടു = രൊതിമാടു.

mala 5. (മല്‍). 1.
