Bunch, esp. of cocoanuts (ഒരു കുലത്തേങ്ങ മുറിച്ചു TP. തേങ്ങാക്കുല, അട ക്കക്കുല TR.) & plantains (കുലകൊത്തുക വാഴ തറിക്ക in war TR. കുലപഴുക്കുന്പോള്‍ സങ്ക്രാന്തി prov.); also of flowers, spatha (പൂക്കുല, കുല യല്ലി) കുലപൊട്ടുക spatha to burst; string of pearls മുത്തുക്കുലകള്‍ Bhr. etc. 2. noose of bowstring, end of bow or arrow (= കുത). കു ലയും കരേററി CC. drew the bow, = കുലെക്ക 3; also ചാപം കുലകൂട്ടാഞ്ഞതു ChVr. To bear fruit (see കുല), വാഴ കുലെച്ചു, ഊന്നു കുലെക്കുമോ prov. കുല ച്ചതു the 8th stage in the growth of a palm-tree, in full bearing. 2. to shake, bend what is elastic ഉറുമ്മി മുട്ടിന്മേല്‍ വെച്ചു കുലെച്ചു TP. tried the sword's temper. വാനേക്കുലെക്കും മഹോദരന്‍ RC., പടെക്കു കുലച്ചല്‍ വന്നു RC., ചിത്തം കുലെച്ചു മയക്കും CG. 3. to draw the bow; വില്ലു കുലെക്കായില്ല Bhr. could not latch the bowstring. = കുലയേററുക.

keṭṭụ M. (= കട്ടു 3. q. v.) 1. A tie, band, (നടു —, തല —); clamp, fetters, knot (ആണ്കെ ട്ടു common, പെണ്കെട്ടു weavers' knot). 2. connection, as of marriage (പെണ്കെട്ടു); confederacy, etc. ഒരു കെട്ടായിരിക്ക to plot together. 3. bundle, parcel, കെട്ടും പേറും prov.; കുഞ്ഞി കുട്ടികള്‍ കെട്ടും കെട്ടി പുറപ്പെട്ടു പോവാന്‍ ഭാ വിച്ചു prepared for flight. കുടികള്‍ കെട്ടു കെട്ടി വാങ്ങിച്ചു പോരുന്നു inhabitants retire, കുഞ്ഞി കുട്ടികളെ കെട്ടുകെട്ടിച്ചു കുടി ഒഴിപ്പിച്ചു TR. čiraṭṭa P. M. (& ച V1., C. കരട) Cocoanut-shell, chiefly the lower half ആണ്മുറി, മൂക്കിന്മുറി; used for firing ചിരട്ടത്തീയിട്ടു a med. (ചി'ത്തീക്കൊത്ത ചൂടു intense heat; — കാണി ക്ക met. to energize). ചിരട്ടക്കരി B.; for begging അവന്‍ ൨ കൈയിലും നാലു ചി. പിടിച്ചു പോകും (curse); for drinking ചിരട്ടക്കള്ളെണ്ണി ക്കയറും TP. — മുട്ടിന്‍ ചിരട്ട the knee-pan.
