T. M. C. Te. (Tu. blow) A bite, biting; (loc.) a cheat. മംഗലത്തിന്നു കടിയും കുടിയുമാ യി a good feed. ഒരു കടി പുല്ലു a mouthful. Tu. കച്ചു.) v. a. 1. to bite, chew. കടിച്ചെത്തുക to be mordacious (dogs or fig. men). കടിപ്പാന്‍ എന്തുണ്ടു to eat. — കടിക്കയും കുടിക്കയും ചെയ്യേണ്ട ആള്‍ a glutton. 2. to smart, pain, cheat. kārtiγa S. (കൃത്തിക) The 3d constellation, the Pleiades; the 3rd day of the lunar month. കാര്‍ത്തികം = വൃശ്ചികം Oct. — Nov. കാര്‍ത്തിക ക ഴിഞ്ഞാല്‍ മഴയില്ല prov. കാര്‍ത്തികപ്പളളി N. pr. of a town KU. കാര്‍ത്തികേയന്‍ Subramanya KR. so called because nursed by the 6 കൃത്തിക, or because wars begin in the above month.

koḷaγam (T. കുളകം, prob. കൊള്‍ + അകം) A measure of 50 Iḍaṇgā/?/isin in Wayanād̄u. കൊളമക്കന്‍ കോല്‍ apothecary weight, 1 പ ലം = 5 Rup. weight.

kuḍumḃ/am S. = കുഡുംബം.

kūr̀ka & കൂര്‍ക്കില്‍ A small kind of yam. അയമോതകക്കൂ., കഞ്ഞി Indian sage. ക ല്‍ക്കൂ., കാട്ടുകൂ. Lavendula carnosa. പന്നിക്കൂ ര്‍ക്ക -or പനികൂര്‍ക്കക്കിഴങ്ങു, പാറക്കൂ, a Thymus. III.
