čāḷa 1. (Tdbh. of ശാല, H. ചാല a thatched roof) A small hut. കിടക്കുന്നതു കാവല്‍ ചാള prov.; ചാ. കെട്ടി TR. temporary huts for soldiers. Esp. the dwellings of 4 bowcastes പുലച്ചാള, മല—, മുക്കുവ—,കരുവാ— (or വേട്ടുവ —or കണിശ —) & therefore called ചാളക്കാര്‍. 2. T. M. ചാളമത്തി, ചാളമീന്‍ sardine V1.

čūṇḍuγa. (fr. ചുണ്ടു & ചീണ്ടുക; Te. C. ചൂടി aim, Te. ചൂപു to see) 1. To point at, to aim എന്മുഖം തന്നിലേ ചൂണ്ടിച്ചൂണ്ടി CG. അ മാത്യന്‍ അതാ പോകുന്നു എന്നു ചൂണ്ടി Mud. beckoned. ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടിക്കൊടുത്താര്‍ Bhr. pointed out. ചൂണ്ടിച്ചൂണ്ടിപ്പറഞ്ഞു alluded, hit with words. 2. to shoot with a cross-bow, to catch fish V1. (ചൂണ്ടല്‍), to trim a lamp വിളക്കു ചൂ. V2. CV. ചൂണ്ടിക്ക V1. ചൂണ്ടന്‍വിരല്‍ (see ചുണ്ടു) also: ചൂണ്ടോന്നി V2.
