čoṇgu 1. (C. സൊ. — = ചൊക്കം) Beauty, elegance. — ചൊങ്കന്‍., ചൊങ്കത്തി f. beautiful (as men, elephants, etc.). 2. (= ചു ങ്ങു) withered; ചൊങ്കുകയ്യന്‍ & ചൊങ്ങയ്യന്‍ V1., ചൊങ്കന്‍ B., who has a withered hand.

čakkara (Tdbh.; ശര്‍ക്കര) Jaggory, palm-sugar. ച'ക്ക് അകവും പുറവും ഒക്കും, ആനെ ക്കു ച. പന prov. (ആനച്ചക്കര a creeper eaten by elephants). Hence: ചക്കരക്കത്തിക്കാരന്‍ see കത്തി. ചക്കരക്കള്ളു toddy for making sugar (called ചക്കരക്കട്ടി). ചക്കരക്കള്ളന്‍ a red ant. ചക്കരപ്പാവു B. raw sugar, syrup; the inspissated palmyra-juice.
