čiraṭṭa P. M. (& ച V1., C. കരട) Cocoanut-shell, chiefly the lower half ആണ്മുറി, മൂക്കിന്മുറി; used for firing ചിരട്ടത്തീയിട്ടു a med. (ചി'ത്തീക്കൊത്ത ചൂടു intense heat; — കാണി ക്ക met. to energize). ചിരട്ടക്കരി B.; for begging അവന്‍ ൨ കൈയിലും നാലു ചി. പിടിച്ചു പോകും (curse); for drinking ചിരട്ടക്കള്ളെണ്ണി ക്കയറും TP. — മുട്ടിന്‍ ചിരട്ട the knee-pan. V2. ചിരട്ടി No. the upper half of a cocoanut-shell (പെണ്മുറി, കണ്ണന്‍ചിരട്ട). അവന്‍റെ ഉ പ്പുചിരട്ടി ആദിയായുള്ള വസ്തുക്കള്‍ all his property. ചിരണ്ടുക = പരണ്ടുക see ചുരണ്ടുക. ചിരത്തുക, ചിരന്നല്‍ see ചു— ചിരമം = ശ്രമം, Tdbh. ചി. കുറഞ്ഞു RC.

čāyilyam (T. ജാതിലിംഗം, but hardly in S. usage; ജാദി C. red from ജതു). Vermilion, used for dyeing shields, painting malefactors, writing, etc. ചായില്യപരിച V1. ചാ. തേക്ക vu. അവനെ ശായില്യമിട്ടു കഴുകി ന്മേല്‍ ഏററുവിന്‍ Mud.

čāṇaγam T. M. & ചാണം (C. സ ഗണി,, S. ഛഗണം fr. ശകൃല്‍) Cowdung used for manure (വളം) & for തളി (ചാണോക്കലം TP.) ചാണക കുന്തി സമ്മന്തി prov. also ആട്ടി ന്‍റെ ചാ. Nid. ചാ. തേക്കു to cowdung, തളിക്ക to sprinkle the floor. ചാണകവറളി, — വരടി dried cowdung.

čīni (prob. Chinese?) 1.
