čand/?/ram S. (ചന്ദ്ര) Lunar, as ചാന്ദ്ര മാസം a lunar month. ചാന്ദ്രായണം a religious observance of 30 days, increasing the food by one mouthful every day during the light half & diminishing it during the dark half; a വ്രതം for getting children with ഗവ്യം.

čalam Tdbh., ജലം. Pus. മുറിപുഴുത്തു ച. വന്നു MR. പുണ്ണിന്നും ചലത്തിന്നും നന്നു MM. denV. ചലവിക്ക pus to form, അതല്ലായ്കില്‍ ച' ച്ചുമരിക്കും MM. — also കുരു പഴുത്തു ചലയി ച്ചു No. II.

čoḍi (C. Tu. സിഡി, aM. ചെടിക്ക, T. ചുളിക്ക ?) 1. Outbreak of passion, ebullition; briskness, fervency. ചൊടിമാറി his rage is over. 2. So. lip (ചിറി). ചൊടിക്ക to be angry, fiery കുഞ്ഞനോട് ഒട്ടും ചൊടിക്കേണ്ടാ TP. VN. ചൊടിപ്പു കാട്ടുക etc. CV. ചൊടിപ്പിക്ക to provoke, enrage. ചൊടിയന്‍ 1.passionate. 2. So. mullet.

čāttam (Tdbh., ശ്രാദ്ധം) 1. Funeral ceremony for deceased relations & ancestors (11 days, or 41 for people of distinction) = പിതൃകര്‍മ്മം. 2. anniversary of the same ആ ണ്ടു ചാ.— നാളൊത്ത തിങ്ങള്‍. a monthly repetition in the first year (Nasr.). ചാത്തം ഊ ട്ടുക, കഴിക്ക to perform the ceremony. ചാ. ഉ ണ്ണുക to assist at it. ചാത്തകം see under ചാത്തു.

čarakkụ 5. (I ചരം) 1. Merchandize, cargo, ച. കയററുക, ഇറക്കുക or കിഴിക്ക. ച രക്കിന്നു അഴിച്ചല്‍ ഉണ്ടു goods sell readily. 2. different moveables or valuable articles, as തുണിച്ച. clothes, also = ചക്കര (in meals) & other drugs; = വട്ടളം a boiler or caldron ച. ചെന്പു; fruits ച. താഴ്ത്തുന്നതു TR., ച. പറിക്ക MR. (cocoanuts, etc.); also fruit-trees ച. വി വരവും ഫലവിവരവും TR. ചരക്കുമേനി V1. current coin; B. a large boat for goods.

čavaḷi T. So. Any cloth C. ജ — (see ചോളി). ചവളിക്കച്ചവടം mercery.
