tōlam S. (തുല) A Tola, the weight of a Rupee. തോലവും much = തുലോം. തോലന്‍ N. pr. a minister of the last Perumāḷ, KU., KM.; comm. N. pr. of men. തോലി, തോലിയം see തോല്വി.

toḍuγa T. M. (C. തുഡുകു; for Te. Tu. see തൊടുക്ക) 1. To touoh. തൊട്ടുതൊട്ടില്ല എ ന്ന പോലേ now seizing, now leaving again. തൊട്ടുമിനുക്കി നടന്നാല്‍ പോരാ a trifler, that touches oil, smears it on his body, has time for anything. തൊട്ടുതീണ്ടിത്തിന്നുന്നവന്‍. — ത ട്ടാന്‍ തൊട്ട അപരാധം (jewels) polluted by T.'s handling. പട്ടര്‍ തൊട്ട പെണ്ണും പട്ടാണി തൊ ട്ട ആനയും ആക prov. മാതാവിനെത്തന്നേ ചോദിച്ചനേരത്തു ലേകമാതാവിനെ തൊട്ടു കാ ട്ടി SG. pointed at. 2. to feel, handle, തൊ ട്ടുനോക്കുക. 3. to come into contact, commence. 4. Uvaria? തൊടുക്കാരം, (better തൊടക്കാരം see തു —) contact. തൊടക്കാരം തീര്‍ക്ക So. = തീണ്ടല്‍ ഉള്ള തു അകററുക, തൊടുവാശി q. v. തീര്‍ക്ക No.; met. to remove, what causes unpleasantness. തൊടുതി quarrel, conflict. തൊടുപണയം = ചൂണ്ടിപ്പണയം. തൊടുവ, (B. തൊടുക, T. തൊടുവു = തൊടി) enclosure, compound; hence തൊടുവക്കളം N. pr. a temple in Kōṭṭayagattu. KU. തൊടുവാശി contact. തൊ. തീര്‍ക്ക to avoid touching, what may be infected; to get removed, what infects തൊടുക്കാരം q.v. CV. തൊടുവിക്ക to make to touch, പുരയും കു ടിയും തൊടീക്കാതേ No. vu. prevent from touching; to make a mark with Sandal. തൊട്ടാലൊട്ടി an ear-snake, തൊ. ചവിട്ടിത്തേച്ച പോലേ prov. tavaḷa T. M. C. Frog, chiefly in the grass. Kinds: സവികം & നി൪വ്വികം Tantr. (with a valuable മണി in the head). ചൊറിത്ത a toad; പച്ചത്ത. a small kind supposed to occasion the death of cattle, that swallow them. മരത്ത. a tree frog. taγu T. C. Te. a M. Defect. V. to be fit, suit മണം തകും മലര്‍ക്കുഴല്‍ RC. — (തന്‍ കൈ യേയല്ലോ തനിക്കുതകു CG. prob. = ഉതകൂ). — തകുവോര്‍ RC., ഉപമതകും Bhr. comparable. പറവ അതിശയിക്കും നടതകും തേര്‍ RC. tūṇi T. M. S. 1. Quiver (Tu. aC. ദോ ണെ, in S. also തൂണം, √ തൂരുക). ശരം ഒടു ങ്ങാത തൂണി KR. ശരതൂണി, അന്പിടുതൂണി RC. 2. a measure of seed sufficient for 100 yards of rice-field, about 1½ Iḍangā/?/i (= 86,400 rice-grains W.). നെല്ല ൮ തൂണിക്ക് അരി ൫ പോരും നെല്ലു CS. paddy, which yields 5/8 rice. — തൂണിക്കൊട്ട a measuring basket.
