tūkkuγa (fr. തൂ?, Te. ദുവ്വു, see തുവര്‍ത്തുക, തൂല്ക്കുക) 1. To wipe with a cloth, sweep, blot out, പുല്ലില്‍ തൂത്ത തവിടു പോലേ prov.; മുററം തൂത്തു തളിക്ക VyM.; തല മുടി തൂത്തു കെട്ടുക V2. clotted hair. 2. (= തൂകുക) to spill, scatter B., വെള്ളം തൂത്തു jud. — whence തൂപ്പു q. v. II.

tuḍal So. = തുട൪, (as തുടലാഞ്ഞാണം B., തുടലി Rh.). ആനത്തു. തുടവു see തുടം 1. & തുടകു.

tāppụ T. M. (C. താപ്പെ time) 1. = താക്കു 2. opportunity താ. ആക. താ. കൂടുക So. to be favorable. — താപ്പാക്ക to make advantageous — താപ്പാന the tame elephant used to subdue the wild one. 2. a measure താ. കാണ്ക, നോക്കുക to try a measure. താ. എന്തു what is the rate? how many Iḍangā/?/is to the Mūḍa? അളന്ന താ. 24 ഇടങ്ങഴി (instead of 25 to the Mūḍa). 3. (= താഴ്പ്പു) vile, worthless എന്നെ ത്താപ്പായ്ക്കളഞ്ഞു, നന്നെത്താപ്പായിക്കണ്ടു vu., fr. താക്കുക II.

tīkšṇam S. (= തിഗ്മം) Sharp. തീക്ഷ്ണ ഖള്‍ഗം PT.; തീക്ഷണവിജ്ഞാനാസിനാ ഛേദിക്ക Bhg.; തീ'നായുള്ള മൌര്യന്‍ Mud.; തീ'മാം തേജ സ്സോടും Bhr. തീക്ഷ്ണദണ്ഡന്‍ AR. a severe master. തീക്ഷ്ണരസം saltpetre, Mud. — Also തീക്ഷണം (as തീക്ഷണഗന്ധങ്ങളാം വില്വം Nal.; തീ' മായുള്ള കത്തിയെ നക്കുന്നു, തീ'മാകും വണ്ണം ശോഭിക്കും KR.) as it were 'quick like fire'.

tūšaǹ (fr. foll, or C. തുസു little) Pointed, spare, as തൂശനില=നാക്കില.

trāṇam S. (ത്രാ = തര്‍ to bring through, save) 1. Preservation നിന്നുടെ പ്രാണത്രാണം ദു൪ല്ലഭം KR. അസ്ത്രങ്ങള്‍കൊണ്ടു പഞ്ജരം നി൪മ്മി ച്ചാന്‍ത്രാണത്തിന്നായി CG. for defence, ത്രാണ കാരണന്‍, ത്രാണനിപുണന്‍ Bhg. Višṇu expert in saving, പിന്ത്രാണം rearguard, convoy V2. 2. power, in കള്ളന്ത്രാണം, — ത്ത്രാ — etc. ത്രാണനം ചെയ്ക to protect V1. ത്രാണി T. So. = ത്രാണം 2. power, capacity. ത്രാതം (part.) preserved; ത്രാതാവു PP. saviour. Imp. ത്രാഹി O save! ത്രഹിമാം പാഹിമാം Bhg.

taṇgam T. M. 1. Pure gold. ഊതിക്കഴി ച്ചൊരു തങ്കത്തിനേക്കാളും ആധിക്യം Nal. ത. പൂശുക to gild. ത. ഇടുക, വെക്ക to enamel. തങ്കപ്പണി, തങ്കവേല work in gold. തങ്കക്കട്ടി, തങ്കവാളം ingot of gold. തങ്കക്കാശു a Ducat. 2. (Tdbh. സംഗം) love, affection അവനോടു വളരെ ത. — also denV. അവനോടു തങ്കിച്ചിട്ടു from love for him. തങ്കാണ്ടിN. pr. of men.

tilam S. Sesamum Indicum = എള്‍; തില മാത്രം = എള്‍ പ്രമാണം; തിലഹോമം PR. തിലകം 1. a natural mark on the body (മറു). 2. an ornamental mark on the forehead തൊ ടുകുറി). കുങ്കുമത്തിലകം തൊട്ടു Bhr. (a woman dressing). പച്ചത്തി. ആക്കുക tattooing. 3. the ornament or chiefest of its kind, കുലതി ലകന്‍, മനുജവരമണിമകുടതിലകന്‍ Bhr. തിലകിതം (തിലകം 2.) marked with Tilakam, തിലകിതഫാലം Bhr.; (തി. 3) ശുകകുലവിമ ലതിലകിതകളേബരേ AR. തിലജം = തൈലം oil, തിലജദ്രോണിയിന്നെടു ത്തു ഭൂപനേ KR.; so തിലരസം AR. oil. തിലോത്തമ N. pr. a celestial woman, that possesses all perfections in extracts of each to the size of a sesam-grain. taraγụ l. (T. തരവു, fr. തരുക?)
