tari M. C. (see തരക്കു, തരു) 1. Grit, granule, sand ഒരു ത. മണല്‍ a grain of sand. ത. യുള്ള മണ്ണല്ല fine clay. വറുത്തു പൊടിച്ചു തരി പോക്കി ചൂര്‍ണ്ണമാക്കി Bhr. coarser bits, unbroken lumps. വെള്ളി ത. ഇട്ട കുട TP. 2. bit തരി പോലും ഇല്ല, ത. മാംസവും ഇല്ല PT. tīyaǹ, a M. തീവന്‍ (Port. Fr. Tives) An islander, the caste of the palm-cultivators, toddy-drawers, sugar-makers, etc. The ൦രംഴ വര്‍ are in fact the same caste, & both are said to have come with the South-tree (തെങ്ങു) from Ceylon KU. — fem. തീയത്തി & തീയപ്പെണ്ണു TR. തീയര്‍ ആദിയായിട്ടുള്ള കീഴ്ജാതികള്‍ TR.; the caste rose in dignity by serving the English at Tellicherry. പുതിയ തീ. a Tīyar-bridegroom. തീയത്താളന്‍ an islander, (see തീവു). തീയന്‍ വാഴ the Maledive-plantain.
